For the eighth week in a row, retirees<\/a> of Iran\u2019s Social Security Organization held protests across the country on Sunday, March 14, to demand that their pensions rise in line with inflation as the cost of food and other essentials continues to rise dramatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protesters said that their ridiculously low pensions are also delayed by several months and the protest again turned into a demonstration against the corruption and mismanagement of the economy by the regime, which has increased poverty and deprivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across Ahvaz, Arak, Karaj, Kermanshah, Khorramabad, Isfahan, Rasht, Tabriz, and Tehran, the pensioners chanted<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
