300 Iranian professionals living in the United States called<\/a> for decisive and immediate action to support the Iranian people\u2019s aspirations for a non-nuclear democratic republic based on the separation of religion and state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iranian experts emphasized that in the uprisings of the last four years, the people of Iran have constantly called for regime change. They underlined that the urgent demand of the Iranian people for regime change is apparent and cannot be ignored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In their letter, Iranian-American professionals underlined that how the regime, in order to oppress major Iran protests, in addition to brutal repression and brutal killings, has resorted to exporting terrorism abroad and extending it to Europe and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They urged the US government to prevent the export of regime terrorism<\/a> in the region and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also urged President Joe Biden\u2019s administration to not lift any sanctions against the terrorist dictatorship and not to give any concessions to this inhumane regime until the regime stops its human rights abuses in Iran and terrorism abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They underlined that defending human rights and democracy in Iran should be a key and enduring element of US policy toward the regime in Tehran. They added that several European courts have ratified mullahs\u2019 terrorism, and the regime\u2019s embassies are centers of terrorism and espionage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Press Release of the Iranian Professionals\u2019 Ad-Hoc Committee on Iran Policy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\nOn\u00a0Wednesday, April 7, 2021, the Iranian Professionals\u2019 Ad Hoc Committee on Iran Policy\u00a0sent an open\u00a0letter<\/a>\u00a0to President\u00a0Joe Biden, chronicling many dimensions of\u00a0Tehran\u2019s\u00a0malign conduct, particularly its appalling human rights record and suppression of dissidents at home and abroad, asking for \u201cstrong and immediate actions in support of the Iranian people\u2019s desire for a democratic, secular, and nonnuclear Republic of\u00a0Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Noting the regime\u2019s fast declining state, the\u00a0letter\u00a0signed by more than 300 prominent Iranian American scientists, scholars, professors, physicians, industry executives and professionals, stressed that \u201cdefending human rights and democracy in\u00a0Iran\u00a0should be the central and enduring element\u201d of President Biden\u2019s policy toward\u00a0Tehran\u00a0as his administration crafts its\u00a0Iran\u00a0policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The co-signers emphasized, \u201cNo sanctions relief or concessions should be provided to the Iranian regime, unless that regime verifiably ends its human rights abuses in\u00a0Iran\u00a0and terrorism abroad and abandons its destructive support for proxies in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor\u00a0Kazem Kazerounian, one of the leading organizers of the\u00a0letter\u00a0and coordinator of the Iranian Professionals\u2019 Ad Hoc Committee on Iran Policy, said: \u201cMany of the co-signers of the letter were the would be targets of a terror plot by the Iranian regime in\u00a0June 2018\u00a0near\u00a0Paris, for which a\u00a0Vienna-based Iranian diplomat,\u00a0 Assadollah Assadi<\/a>, was arrested and sentenced to 20 years by a Belgian Court in\u00a0February 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
