Congressman Kevin McCarthy, Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives, addressed at the Free Iran World Summit 2021 on July 10, 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/iframe>\n\n\n\n\u201cI\u2019m happy to be with you today to stand in support of a free and democratic Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe oppressive regime in Tehran and its new president has a history of suppressing freedom of speech, supporting <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/iran-state-sponsor-terrorism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">terrorism<\/a>, and seeking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/inside-source-reports\/iran-s-nuclear-weapons-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nuclear <\/a>weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\nTo the families who have lost loved ones in opposing this regime, I am sorry for your loss, and I share your concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\nBut I have also hope. Hope that America \u2014 along with you and our allies \u2014 will see a democratic Iran that protects free speech and the rights of all people.<\/p>\n\n\n\nHope that the dark days of fear under the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/2020\/10\/24\/who-is-ali-khamenei-iranian-regime-supreme-leader\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Supreme Leader<\/a> will subside, as Iran blossoms into a responsible democratic nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\nImagine it. A <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/freeiran-en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">free Iran<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThank you for striving to make this goal a reality in our lifetime.
