Nicole Malliotakis, Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York\u2019s 11th district, addressed at the Free Iran World Summit 2021 on July 10, 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/iframe>\n\n\n\nTo all those gathered at the free, secular, nonnuclear and republican Iran conference that\u2019s being held, this is United States Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis and I wanted to thank you for coming together to advocate for a free Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\nWhat happened in this election was very disturbing to not only those who want a <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/freeiran-en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">free Iran<\/a>, but to those all around the world that care about liberty and human rights. The election of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-ebrahim-raisi-a-mass-murderer-for-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Raisi <\/a>as somebody who has United States sanctions against him, as someone who\u2019s responsible for the death of thousands of Iranians who were just advocating for their own rights and freedom, is very disturbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\nAnd so, we need to continue to join together to demand that Iran hold free and fair elections, that they release United States hostages, that they improve human rights and certainly that the Biden administration does not reenter any Iranian deal or lift sanctions unless they\u2019re going to come to the table with good faith. And we will continue as members of the Foreign Affairs Committee to advocate for this.<\/p>\n\n\n\nAs a member of this committee, I have been at the forefront of cosponsoring legislation and resolutions that would do just this.
