Edmond Spaho, head of the Democratic Party in the Albanian Parliament, addressed at the\u00a02nd Day of The Free Iran World Summit on\u00a0July 11, 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/iframe>\n\n\n\nDear <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/maryam-rajavi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Madam Rajavi<\/a>, Dear Participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIt is a pleasure for me to address this extraordinary international Conference from across the globe. I should congratulate the Iranian people and resistance for organizing such <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/freeiran-en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a magnificent gathering<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\u2013 Albania has always been in support of those who were suppressed by the dictatorial regimes in Iran. We express our deep concerns about ongoing human rights violations in Iran and thousands of executions, during years, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/1988-massacre-of-political-prisoners-in-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe Iranian people and resistance have been protesting and struggling more than 40 years, in widespread uprisings of 1999, 2011, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020\u2026 According to the US State Department, more than <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1,500 people were killed<\/a> during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-november-2019-uprising-and-its-amplifications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">November 2019<\/a> popular protests. We, condemn all these brutal atrocities and killings of innocent people.<\/p>\n\n\n\nAs part of Albania\u2019s firm policy against terrorism, <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/2020\/01\/16\/albania-expels-iran-regimes-diplomats-for-conducting-terrorist-activites\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">our government expelled<\/a> the Iranian Ambassador in Albania as well as 3 diplomats of the Iranian embassy for their engagements in terrorist plots against Mojahedin in Tirana in December 2018. The expulsion of the Iranian Ambassador and diplomats by our authorities is an important step. We send the right message that no Iranian embassies should be used for plotting terror and conducting spying activities against dissidents. We support similar actions in future if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\nOn February 4, 2021, Belgium court sentenced Iran\u2019s diplomat in Vienna, <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/2021\/02\/05\/assadi-sentenced-to-20-years-in-prison-for-terror-plot-in-france\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Assadollah Assadi<\/a> to the maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment for his role in planning to plant a bomb at the Free Iran gathering in 2018, and his 3 accomplices were given jail terms of 15 to 18 years and stripped of their Belgian citizenship.<\/p>\n\n\n\nOn 27 April 2021, the majority members of US Congress supported the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/house-resolution\/118\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resolution Number 118<\/a> expressing \u201csupport for the Iranian people\u2019s desire for a democratic, secular, and nonnuclear Republic of Iran\u201d and condemns \u201cviolations of human rights and state-sponsored terrorism by the Iranian Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe Iranian people <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/2021\/06\/18\/live-report-widespread-boycott-of-the-mullahs-sham-presidential-election-by-the-iranian-people\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">boycotted the presidential election<\/a> on 18 June 2021. As Madame Rajavi stated: the installing of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-ebrahim-raisi-a-mass-murderer-for-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new president<\/a> reflects the regime desperation, foreshadows the overthrow of the ruling theocracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\nMembers of the Albanian Parliament from Democratic Party of Albania support National Council of Resistance of Iran, as the Legitimate Alternative to bring about peace and freedom in Iran.
