On Friday, August 27, 2021, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) hosted a virtual conference<\/a> to discuss the Iranian regime\u2019s massacre of 30,000 political prisoners during the summer of 1988<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several participants in the conference emphasized that over 90 percent of the victims were reportedly members and supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>), which today stands at the head of the NCRI <\/a>coalition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) noted in her speech at the conference that the massacre emanated from an \u201cexplicit decree\u201d by the regime\u2019s founder \u201cto execute all the Mojahedin who remained steadfast.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Rajavi<\/a> went on to say, however, that the regime\u2019s goal \u201cgoes far beyond the execution of several thousand. It is the obliteration of a generation, an ideology, and men and women who rejected religious extremism under the guise of Islam and stood up for human freedom and dignity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
