Tritan Shehu, Albanian MP, Minister of Foreign Affairs (1996-1997), addressed at the\u00a02nd Day of The Free Iran World Summit on\u00a0July 12, 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/iframe>\n\n\n\nDear <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/biography\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mrs. Rajavi<\/a>, distinguished guests, dear Iran and France, and all over the world. It\u2019s my pleasure to take part in this very<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/freeiran-en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> important summit for democracy and freedom<\/a>, attended by so many international personalities and thousands of Iranian.<\/p>\n\n\n\nFreedom and democracy is a fundamental, a universal right, and the people of Iran deserve it. They deserve human rights, justice, and the states of law. Freedom means also deity worgen health, freedom means peace, integration with the other people to be open to all without any prejudice, discrimination, regardless of race, gender, religion, the geographic position, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\nIranians need to enjoy themselves. They suffer from the misuse of religion, from oppression of the people, poverty, corruption of the government, and many more. So, I fully understand why they want democracy because democracy is fundamental for development, for stability, for the country, and also for the so complicated Middle East region. <\/p>\n\n\n\nSo, it is necessary to avoid extremism, the fundamentalist mentality, organization, institutions, and state. Fundamentalism is not only in the form of democracy, but the more create a basis for radicalism and <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/iran-state-sponsor-terrorism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">terrorism<\/a>, at the moment in which we need to create the condition for a peaceful cohabitation between the peoples for the prosperity. <\/p>\n\n\n\nOnly democracy can be the guarantee for these and this only one model of democracy there is over freedom, equality, human rights, diversity, free votes for all. <\/p>\n\n\n\nThis is why I give you my solidarity and stand with you on the right side of history in your cause for democracy and equality. I wish you the best and a successful summit.
