90 percent of Iran\u2019s petrochemical industry are now mainly under the control of the IRGC through \u201cprivatization\u201d schemes<\/sup><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Through the privatization of state-owned economic institutions in Iran, a large number of government-linked institutions, such as the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC<\/a>), the Headquarters for Executing the Order of the Imam<\/a> (SETAD), Bonyad Mostazafan <\/a>(Foundation of the Oppressed), Shahid Foundation (Martyr Foundation, have been able to take over state-owned industries for the Iranian regime\u2019s own monetary gain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The influence of the SETAD and its domination over the Iranian economy is even greater than that of the IRGC. When it comes to the Iranian regime\u2019s corruption and confiscation of assets, the SETAD is the most forceful of the companies affiliated with the regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI<\/a>\/MEK) said<\/a>, \u201cEconomists acknowledge the fact that this kind of privatization is in fact \u201cKhosoolati\u201d (government-owned companies sold to private owners linked to regime officials) and contrary to the usual methods of privatization in other parts of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regime\u2019s privatization of state-owned institutions is their attempt to increase the capital of the government institutions that are linked to the regime\u2019s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamene<\/a>i. All this at the cost of ruining Iran\u2019s economy and causing detrimental damage to the Iranian people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
