^{Shahr-e Kord Protests \u2014 Monday, Nov 22, 2021<\/sup><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\nThe people of Shahr-e Kord<\/a>, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, held the second consecutive day of their large demonstrations on Monday, November 22, 2021, protesting government policies that have resulted in water shortages across the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n<\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The protesters were chanting anti-regime slogans and encouraging other provinces to join what is slowly becoming a nationwide movement against regime policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like many other provinces, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari is facing severe water shortages. The protesters were saying that government officials are only giving promises and refrain from taking action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday, November 22, 2021, Habib Fadaee, a civil rights activist that was previously arrested and imprisoned by the regime, joined the protesters and warned that the regime wants to divide the people of Iran and that the water problem has not been solved because the regime is running a \u201cwater mafia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">November 22 \u2013 Shahrekord, central <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Iran?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Iran<\/a> <br>Angry locals chanting:<br>\"We will not give up our rights. However, if we don\u2019t receive any answers, we will!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The protests in Shahr-e Kord began on Sunday, following two weeks of intense protests of the neighboring <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/2021\/11\/20\/iran-protests-isfahan-uprising-in-support-of-the-protesting-farmers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Isfahan <\/a>province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mrs. <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/maryam-rajavi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/national-council-of-resistance-of-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NCRI<\/a>), hailed the brave people of Shahrekord who rose up in the wake of protests in Isfahan against the regime\u2019s plunder of water resources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I salute the brave people of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari who have held protests against water shortages.
