Iran\u2019s Terrorist Network in Africa and Its Implications<\/sup><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A series of coordinated plans for an Iranian terror attack in Kenya were uncovered <\/a>by authorities on Sunday, November 28, with Mohammed Saeid Golabi<\/a> being accused of being at the core of the plot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discovery of this new terror plot once again proves that the Iranian regime\u2019s malign activities do not just occur domestically. Since their rise to power in 1979, the regime\u2019s \u2018export of the Islamic Revolution\u2019 has brought chaos to many countries around the world, especially those with a Muslim population. African Muslim countries have therefore always been a prime target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) said, \u201cThe Iranian regime, either directly or through its Hezbollah terrorist proxy group<\/a>, has expanded its influence across the continent, mainly south of the Sahara. Iran\u2019s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC<\/a>) and Hezbollah have established a strong foothold in Africa, and their activities there accelerated in the early 2010s and reached a new height after 2018.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
