Forty-seven political prisoners<\/a> in Urmia Central Prison in northwest Iran went on hunger strike<\/a> after being transferred to a high-security ward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The high-security ward lacks basic facilities and is very small. It has been designed to torture and harass political prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
