On Friday, May 13, 2022, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) held a press conference in Paris, making public for the first time the hitherto undisclosed names of over 33,000 officials, interrogators, torturers, and executioners in Iran\u2019s Prisons Organization and over 22,000 of their pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n<\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Excerpt of this press conference is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the conference, Behzad Naziri,<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/national-council-of-resistance-of-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> NCRI<\/a>\u2019s representative to international organizations, referred to the ongoing protests across Iran and the regime\u2019s systematic crackdown on dissidents. He pointed to the recent demonstrations in dozens of Iranian cities over the country\u2019s worsening economic situation and the nationwide protests by teachers.<br>Naziri said that Iran\u2019s ruling theocracy has arrested \u201chundreds of young people during the recent protests, as well as dozens of teachers.\u201d He underlined that these arrests are part of the regime\u2019s futile efforts to prevent protests from spreading across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naziri presented a video showing the names of more than 33,000 regime prison officials, including top authorities, interrogators, intelligence agents, executioners, guards, and mercenaries. He also presented the pictures obtained from inside Iran by the NCRI\u2019s main constituent, the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (<a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/about-iranian-opposition-pmoi-mek\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) of many of these same individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Naziri was joined by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/amsafavi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ali Safavi <\/a>from the NCRI\u2019s Foreign Affairs Committee. In his remarks, Safavi pointed out the dreadful situation in Iranian prisons. He presented over one hundred pictures of overcrowded cells in 23 out of 31 provinces across the country obtained by the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/peoples-mojahedin-pmoi-mek-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MEK<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Safavi explained the dire conditions of prisoners, whom, he said, were being denied their fundamental rights.
