Iran Protests \u2013 September 25, 2022: Protesters in at least 146 cities across all of Iran\u2019s 31 provinces have taken to the streets seeking to overthrow the mullahs\u2019 regime. Over 180 have been killed by regime suppressor forces.<\/sup><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Iran\u2019s protests spread to 146 cities as 180 are killed by regime security forces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

September 25, 2022:<\/strong> Anti-regime protests<\/a> continued across Iran on Sunday, September 25, despite a heavy crackdown and internet restrictions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, protests have spread to at least 146 cities and all 31 provinces throughout the country. Over 180 people have been killed by the regime\u2019s repressive security forces, with hundreds, if not thousands, as the Revolutionary Guards and state police resort to brutal measures aimed at quelling the protests. Sources also report over 8,000 arrested protesters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Tehran<\/strong>, protesters resumed their rallies in Narmak District and chanted, \u201cProud Iranians! Support! Support!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Tehran\u2019s Sattarkhan district, protests resumed with chants of \u201cDeath to the dictator!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Tehran University, students resumed their rally at night and called for the release of detained protesters. They chanted slogans demanding freedom and vowed to take back Iran from the mullahs. Security forces were not able to disperse them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are reports of many students having been arrested by security forces, and the regime security apparatus is doing house by house searches to identify and arrest protesters. Students have been especially active in this round of anti-regime protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protests continued in several districts of Tehran late into the night. In Narmak District, protesters were chanting, \u201cThis is the last message! Our target is the regime in its entirety!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Ekbatan, the regime dispatched the much-hated Basij forces to disperse protesters. Protesters resisted and chanted, \u201cBasiji get lost!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Sattarkhan, one of the most active areas of protests in previous nights, the people gathered again and resumed their rallies. The protesters were chanting, \u201cDeath to the dictator!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protests were also reported in Ashrafi Esfahani Expressway and Punak District, where protesters were chanting, \u201cFreedom! Freedom! Freedom!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protests also continued in other cities across the country. In Sanandaj<\/strong>, thick plumes of cloud were rising in the air and gunshots could be heard across the city at dusk. Also, in Sanandaj, protesters were chanting, \u201cDeath to Khamenei!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regime\u2019s crackdown on protests in Kurdish cities has been especially harsh in the past days. Yet, people continue to come to the streets every night to call for regime change and an end to the mullahs\u2019 rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other cities where videos have been obtained from include Saravan<\/strong>, Tabriz<\/strong>, and Shiraz<\/strong>. In Zahedan<\/strong>, protesters are taking to arms to fight back against regime security forces, who first opened fire on them. \u201cDeath to Khamenei! Baluchistan stands with Kurdistan!\u201d protesters say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These protests <\/a>began following the death of\u00a0Mahsa Amini.<\/a>\u00a0Mahsa (Zhina) Amini, a 22-year-old woman from the city of Saqqez in Kurdistan Province, western Iran, who traveled to Tehran with her family, was arrested on Tuesday, September 13, at the entry of Haqqani Highway by the regime\u2019s so-called \u201cGuidance Patrol\u201d and transferred to the \u201cMoral Security\u201d agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protesting her arrest,\u00a0Amini\u00a0<\/a>was severely beaten by the security forces in a van and was taken to the capital\u2019s Kasra Hospital due to the severity of her injuries. After initial examinations, doctors declared that Amini had suffered a stroke and was brain-dead at the same time. Amini died on Friday, September 16. Shortly after, protests broke out in several cities, including Tehran and Saqqez. The protests have continued and expanded since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
