Mrs. Maryam Rajavi Meets with Members of U.S. Congress to Discuss the Uprisings in Iran<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
October 1, 2022:<\/strong> The Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance (NCRI) issued a statement<\/a> about Maryam Rajavi\u2019s meeting<\/a> with the representatives of the United States Congress discussing the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
**The full text of this statement is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n**
In a series of meetings this week, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, held meetings with members of U.S. Congress, including senior members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee from both sides of the aisle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During these meetings, Mrs. Rajavi discussed the expansion of the uprisings to all 31 provinces of Iran with the goal of establishing a democratic republic based on separation of religion and state and stressed that now is the time for the world to recognize the Iranian peoples\u2019 right to defend themselves in order to overthrow the regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mrs. Rajavi held separate meetings with Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Congressman Tom McClintock (R-CA), senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, Congresswoman Young Kim (R-CA), member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Congressman Raul Ruiz (D-CA), member of House Energy & Commerce Committee, Congressman Lance Gooden (R-TX), member of the House Financial Services Committee, and Congressman Randy Weber (R-TX), member of the House Science, Space & Technology committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
