The study which has been written by prominent European politicians and experts aims to provide a clear picture of how Iran has become a stage of fierce battles between its people and their democratic forces vis-\u00e0-vis the tyrannical dictatorships and their foreign backers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The violence that the Shah\u2019s regime unleashed against Iranian society was the least of the damage he did. The political vacuum he created for Ruhollah Khomeini became his lasting legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Khomeini regime, from which <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2020\/10\/who-is-ali-khamenei-iranian-regime-supreme-leader\/19254\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ali Khamenei<\/a> and his cohorts hail, is the most recent reincarnation of authoritarianism and despotism in Iran. The regime rode a wave of \u201canti-imperialist\u201d victimhood, subdued Iranian society with foreign wars and crises, and held a guilt-ridden Western community at bay with ethno-religious claims to alternative theories of \u201cIslamic\u201d human rights, \u201cIslamic\u201d democracy, and \u201cIslamic\u201d justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The New Iran Revolution<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The new Iranian revolution unfolding before our eyes, pursuing the goals of freedom and democracy of the 1979 revolution, refutes those claims, tears down the regime\u2019s lies, and lays claim to Iranian society\u2019s inalienable and universal right to individual and civil liberties, a democratic republic, and the rule of law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This anthology of writings, by expert analysts with insights into the complicated political landscape of Iran, deals with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/iran-protests-2022-nationwide-uprising\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the recent uprising<\/a> sparked by the murder in custody of <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2022\/09\/the-brutal-murder-of-mahsa-amini-by-khameneis-criminal-agents-has-created-a-wave-of-anger-and-hatred-throughout-iran\/37206\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mahsa Amini<\/a> on September 16, 2022. Ever since 2017, and throughout 2018 and 2019, when uprisings rocked Iran with increased frequency and cataclysmic force, observers and social scientists began warning that the regime would face society\u2019s fury in the next social upheaval around the corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/iran-protests-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The uprising<\/a> was therefore not unforeseen, nor can it be understood in the limited context, however tragic, of one unjust and extrajudicial killing. The criminal killing of Mahsa Amini was not a one-off injustice, but a byproduct of an illegitimate system that the people have shown they will no longer tolerate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Authors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In this anthology, the authors lend insight and clarity to puzzling aspects of a complex movement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first essay, <strong>Dr. Behrouz Pouyan<\/strong>, an assistant university professor and a political analyst in Tehran, writing under his pseudonym for security reasons, guides the reader through the current uprising and its distinctive features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ambassador J. Kenneth Blackwell, an author and senior fellow for human rights and constitutional governance at the Family Research Council, dissects and lays bare the regime\u2019s repression during the current round of protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Professor Ivan Sascha Sheehan<\/strong>, from the University of Baltimore\u2019s Public and International Affairs Department, discusses the issue of unity among opposition forces, touching upon those that ousted the Shah in 1979, and delving into the basis for unity and what it means to be united.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alejo Vidal-Quadras<\/strong>, a former First VP of the European Parliament and President of the International Committee in Search of Justice, presents the political alternative to the falling regime of the mullahs in Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Struan Stevenson<\/strong>, former member of EU Parliament and Coordinator of the Campaign for Iran Change, exposes the regime\u2019s tactics of coercion, terrorism, disinformation, and political manipulation, especially its demonization campaigns directed against its nemesis, the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/about-the-peoples-mojahedin-organization-of-iran-pmoi-mek\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MEK<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Robert
