Paris, June 30, 2018 \u2013 The Free Iran Gathering, held in Paris on June 30, was well received by various media outlets across the world. \u201cThe calls for freedom in Iran are growing louder,\u201d writes senior Fox News correspondent Eric Shawn in his\u00a0coverage<\/a>\u00a0of the event.<\/p>\n

What makes the Free Iran Gathering important, Shawn writes, is that it is happening against the backdrop of months-long protests by supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, which he described as \u201cthe largest Iranian opposition group.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis weekend the group predicts that change will be coming to Iran,\u201d Shawn writes.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with Fox News, NCRI president Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a> said, \u201cThe problem with this regime is not limited to its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. More important, is the systematic and flagrant violations of human rights in Iran. The decisive factor which for many years has been ignored, is the Iranian peoples\u2019 resistance and the nationwide uprising.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mrs. Rajavi also criticized the failed appeasement policy toward the Iranian regime and stressed, \u201cThe only way to rectify the adverse consequences of these three decade old policies for the Iranian people and the resistance, is to recognize the Iranian resistance and overthrow the ruling autocracy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ambassador and former Democratic Governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson, among others from both sides of the aisle,\u201d Shawn writes.<\/p>\n
