A significant majority of Jordan\u2019s Parliament has publicly declared their endorsement of a global statement in support of the uprising and resistance movement in Iran, as well as Maryam Rajavi<\/a>\u2018s Ten-Point plan<\/a>. This proclamation was announced during the Free Iran Global Summit in Paris<\/a> on its second day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement, backed by prominent figures such as the First Deputy Parliament Speaker, a faction leader, and eight heads of parliamentary committees, stands in solidarity with the Iranian people\u2019s demand for a democratic Republic. It emphatically rejects any form of dictatorship, whether it be the past monarchy or the present religious regime, as evident in the powerful slogans voiced by the Iranian population during recent waves of demonstrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the global statement recognizes the courageous uprising of the Iranian people, attributing it to both the unstable state of Iranian society and the organized resistance that has spanned four decades. The document also brings attention to the tragic events of the summer of 1988, when more than 30,000 political prisoners, primarily members of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK), were ruthlessly massacred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This announcement by Jordan\u2019s House of Representatives contributes to the growing international support for the Iranian people\u2019s pursuit of a democratic republic. It underscores their unwavering determination to break free from oppressive regimes and establish a government founded on the principles of democracy, secularism, and freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Support the Iranian People in Their Struggle\u202f<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For the past six months, the world has witnessed a sweeping popular uprising in Iran, demanding freedom and democracy. Some 750 protesters have been killed and 30,000 arrested. While any change should come from the Iranian people and their own resistance, the international community has its own responsibility.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We stand in solidarity with the people of Iran in their desire for a secular and democratic republic where no individual, regardless of religion or birthright, has any privilege over others. Through their slogans, the Iranian people have made it clear that they reject all forms of dictatorship, be it the deposed Shah or the current theocratic regime, and thus reject any association with either.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We believe it is for the Iranian people to decide their future. However, we recognize the fact that over the past four decades, the democratic coalition of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) has constantly and tirelessly pursued democratic change. In this respect, we believe the Ten-point Plan articulated by the\u00a0NCRI\u00a0<\/a>President, Mrs.\u00a0Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, deserves our support. It stands for free elections, freedom of assembly and expression, abolition of the death penalty, gender equality, the separation of religion and state, autonomy for Iran\u2019s ethnicities, and a non-nuclear Iran.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Iranian people\u2019s courageous uprising can be attributed, on the one hand, to the explosive state of Iranian society, a product of suppression, poverty, discrimination, and government corruption, and, on the other hand, four decades of nationwide organized resistance. Tragically, in the summer of 1988 alone, over 30,000 political prisoners \u2013 the vast majority of whom were members of the MEK \u2013 were brutally massacred.\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We condemn the Iranian regime\u2019s meddling in the Middle East region and Europe, including its terrorist attempts and cyber-attacks in Albania.\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We urge the international community to stand with the Iranian people in their quest for change and to take decisive steps against the current regime.
