On Monday, August 21, the conference titled \u2018Four Decades of Crime against Humanity and Impunity from Punishment\u2019 took place at the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>)\u2019s Headquarters in Auvers-sur-Oise on the northwestern outskirts of Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was held to mark the 35th anniversary of the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners<\/a> by the Iranian regime. Distinguished international judges and jurists were among the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference aimed to reaffirm longstanding appeals for a thorough, unbiased, and independent inquiry into what some have labeled as one of the most severe instances of crimes against humanity since World War II. Despite its significance, this case remains unexplored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The speakers at the conference were as follows:
-Professor Chile Eboe-Osuji: President of the International Criminal Court in The Hague (2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Professor Leila Nadia Sadat: Special Adviser on Crimes Against Humanity to the International Criminal Court Prosecutor from 2012-2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Professor Wolfgang Schomburg: Former Judge of the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Professor William Schabas: President of the United Nations Independent Comittee of Inquiry on the Gaza Strip (2015).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Professor Vilnas Vadapalas: Judge of the General Court of the European Union (2013).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Professor Valerius M. Ciuc\u0103: Judge of the General Court of the European Union (2010). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Oleksandra Matviichuk, Ukrainian human rights lawyer and co-recipient of the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Sir Geoffrey Nice KC: Lead prosecutor at the trial of Slobodan Milo\u0161evi\u0107 in The Hague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Ms. Sheila Paylan: International human rights lawyer and former SGBV Specialist at UN human rights office for 15 years<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-The Rt. Hon. David Jones: MP and former UK Secretary of State for Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Prof. Alejo Vidal Quadras: President of the In Search of Justice Committee and Vice President of the European Parliament (1999 to 2014).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-Mr. Tahar Boumedra: Director of the Justice for the Victims of the 1988 Massacre<\/a> in Iran (JVMI<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
