\n<\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\nIn Zahedan, a significant assembly of individuals congregated around the Makki Mosque to pay their respects to the victims of the tragic massacre, resounding with fervent anti-regime chants.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe protesters voiced their grievances with chants such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\u201cI will avenge my murdered brother!\u201d \u201cDeath to the tyrant, be it the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shah <\/a>or the mullahs!\u201d \u201cDeath to <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2020\/10\/who-is-ali-khamenei-iranian-regime-supreme-leader\/19254\/\">Khamenei<\/a>!\u201d \u201cDeath to the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/article\/basij-irans-most-hated-paramilitary-force\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Basij<\/a>!\u201d Simultaneously, protests erupted in various other cities, including Khash, Suran, and Taftan. In Khash, a sizable assembly gathered, echoing chants like \u201cDeath to Khamenei!\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/i\/look-irans-revolutionary-guards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IRGC <\/a>and Basij are our murderers!\u201d In Suran, demonstrators declared, \u201cBasij and IRGC are like ISIS!\u201d While in the Nukabad district of Taftan, chants of \u201cDeath to the dictator!\u201d and \u201cDeath to Basij!\u201d rang out.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIn response, the regime resorted to repression tactics. NetBlocks, an organization monitoring global internet connectivity, reported internet access restrictions in Zahedan and other regions within Sistan and Baluchestan.<\/p>\n\n\n\nSecurity forces in Zahedan used excessive force, firing live ammunition and tear gas at the protesters. Numerous videos captured these violent clashes between security forces and demonstrators.<\/p>\n\n\n\nRemarkably, the brave residents of Zahedan stood their ground, confronting security forces unarmed and ultimately compelling their withdrawal. Preliminary reports indicated that several individuals, including children, sustained injuries from the security forces\u2019 actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\nOn September 30, 2022, in the wake of the regime\u2019s morality police killing Mahsa Amini, security forces in Zahedan again resorted to deadly force, resulting in the tragic loss of over 100 lives, including at least a dozen children. This tragic event, known as the Bloody Friday of Zahedan, remains etched in the collective memory of Iran as one of the regime\u2019s most heinous crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\nSince that fateful day, the Baluch people have steadfastly convened protest rallies every Friday.
