\nKenneth Lewis: We fully agree with the court\u2019s verdict regarding the life imprisonment of Hamid Noury<\/a>. There is abundant evidence proving his guilt at the 1988 massacr<\/a>e, the genocide that more than 30,000 political prisoners were executed in prisons across Iran.
\nExplaining the confrontation of the Iranian people and resistance with the Mullahs\u2019 regime over the past four decades.
\nPresenting documents and evidence to the court as a non-international war.
\nIn our view, the conflict between the MEK <\/a>and the Iranian regime has been a non-international war. And Hamid Noury<\/a> should be convicted for his crimes in a non-international armed conflict.<\/p>\n

The Executioner Hamid Noury (Hamid Abbasi)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Many false data regarding the relationship between the MEK <\/a>and Iraq were cited in the court, quoting Rouzbeh Parsi<\/a>.
\nAccording to recently published documents, it has been orchestrated by the regime to disseminate false and misleading information to influence European countries.
\nThe fact that the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>), after the overthrow of the former Iraqi government, was recognized as protected persons under the Fourth Geneva Convention was based on their independent activities in Iraq.
\nKenneth Lewis, by presenting documents of weapons procurement by the Mojahedin since 2001, and the statements of United Nations officials indicating that the Mojahedin\u2019s bases,\u00a0 were not under the control of the Iraqi government, stated:
\nThese documents not only prove the Mojahedin\u2019s independence from Iraq, but also show that the non-international armed conflict has continued after 1988.
\nKenneth Lewis, by presenting a list of armed clashes between the regime and the Mojahedin since 1981, as well as missile, aerial, and terrorist attacks by the regime against the PMOI in the past 30 years, concluded:
\nThe armed conflict between the PMOI and the regime has been significantly longer than the Iran-Iraq war. And it has continued at least since 2003, even when the MEK were unarmed.
\nKenneth Lewis, by analyzing the text of the mass killing order (Khomeini\u2019s Fatwa)<\/a>, stated that it does not indicate any operation by Forough Javidan (Eternal Light<\/a>). Most likely, this order was written simultaneously with Khomeini\u2019s acceptance of the ceasefire.
\nKenneth Lewis stated that Khomeini had eight reasons for the mass killing of the Mojahedin members and supporters. Three of these reasons are related to the Mojahedin\u2019s religious beliefs, indicating genocide. He stated that another reason for Khomeini was the Mojahedin\u2019s classic wars in the north and west of the country.
\nHe presented a map showing that the north and south of the country have no connection to Iraq and, therefore, no connection to the Forough Javidan Operation (Eternal Light).<\/p>\n
