Conference at the UK Parliament \u2013 12 December 2023<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

London\u2014December 12, 2023:<\/strong> A conference titled \u201cSupport Iranian People\u2019s Struggle for Human Rights and Justice\u201d was held at the UK House of Lords. The event brought together participants from both houses of the UK Parliament, jurists, and human rights activists, including notable figures like Lord Alton, Lord Carlile, Baroness O\u2019Loan, and members of the House of Commons such as Bob Blackman, Dr. Liam Fox, Steve McCabe, Martyn Day, Jim Shannon, and former MEP Anthea McIntyre. Distinguished legal professionals such as Professor Sara Chandler QC, Lauren Lederle, and Jocelynne Scutt were also in attendance.<\/p>\n

Mrs.\u00a0Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>), initiated the conference online with her opening remarks<\/a>. She emphasized that Iran\u2019s challenges have become a multi-faceted conflict involving the international community, the people of the Middle East, and, crucially, the people of Iran.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Rajavi pointed out a concerning surge in prisoner executions, citing November\u2019s execution of at least 120 individuals, including supporters of the Mojahedin (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) and brave protesters. She also highlighted the regime\u2019s actions of terrorism beyond Iran\u2019s borders.<\/p>\n

Discussing the trial of 104 PMOI members in absentia, Mrs. Rajavi<\/a> revealed that the regime initiated a show trial in Tehran, featuring only the regime\u2019s alleged judges and lawyers. She emphasized that the Iranian Resistance has long invited regime leaders to an international court.<\/p>\n
