\"In — EU Parliament Resolution<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
In a resolute stance, the European Parliament passed a comprehensive resolution condemning the Iranian regime\u2019s actions and calling for decisive measures against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC<\/a>). The resolution, adopted with a significant majority, addressed various critical issues, including human rights violations, terrorism, attacks on Israel, and the need for de-escalation.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, the European Parliament adopted a motion calling for the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC<\/a>) to be included on the list of designated terrorist organizations. The motion garnered 357 votes in favor, 20 against, and 58 abstentions in Strasbourg\u2019s plenary chamber.<\/p>\n
The European Parliament strongly condemned Iran\u2019s severe human rights abuses and reiterated its support for blacklisting the IRGC<\/a> as a terrorist organization. Additionally, the resolution condemned the IRGC for a terrorist attack and ongoing hostage-taking policies. MEPs expressed firm support for expanding existing EU sanctions against Iran, including sanctions on Iran\u2019s supply of drones and missiles to other countries, emphasizing the destabilizing role of the IRGC in the region.<\/p>\n
A day earlier, on April 24, The European Parliament held a formal session, where members discussed the urgent need to adopt a resolution condemning the warmongering regime in Iran and designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. The session was attended by Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.<\/p>\n
During the session, several members of the European Parliament expressed their strong condemnation of the Iranian regime\u2019s actions, describing it as the \u201chead of the snake of war and terror\u201d in the region and a \u201cglobal threat.\u201d Some MEPs called for the European Union to take decisive action, including listing the IRGC as a terrorist organization and recognizing the democratic opposition led by Mrs. Maryam Rajav<\/a>i, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>), and her Ten-Point Plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n
