\u2018Down with the Dictator\u2019 Protestors attacked with tear gas as Iran erupts in flames<\/h2>\n
On Wednesday, for the second consecutive day, the people of Isfahan rallied against the Iranian regime<\/a>\u2019s corruption and the declining economic situation.<\/p>\n
Clashes continue between protesters and state security forces, as seen in videos from Shapour. A unit of security forces attempted to attack protesters, but retreated when they resisted. Instead, tear gas was fired at the protesters.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\nPresident-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/2018\/08\/01\/maryam-rajavi-iran-regime\/\">Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, hailed the people of Isfahan<\/a> for their resistance and said they are \u201cheralding liberation of their land occupied by the mullahs\u2019 religious tyranny.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\nToday, the world can see that the voice of Iranians cannot be silenced despite massive repression, and their uprisings are carrying on until victory. These are the blazing flames of a resistance with over 100,000 martyrs, flaring up in the streets after forty years.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Iran?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Iran<\/a><\/p>\n\u2014 Maryam Rajavi (@Maryam_Rajavi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Maryam_Rajavi\/status\/1024382089989382144?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 31, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/Maryam_Rajavi\/status\/1024617730283134976<\/p>\nAccording to the videos coming out of Isfahan, the protesters are chanting, \u201cKhamenei, shame on you. Let go of your rule\u201d \u2014 a direct challenge the highest authority in the Iranian regime, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.<\/p>\nProtesters have set fire to tires to counteract the effects of tear gas fired by security forces. Rocks and bricks litter the streets where protesters clashed with security forces. According to local reports, anti-riot police are afraid to engage in clashes with protestors and have even retreated from the angry demonstrators.<\/p>\nOne of the popular chants is, \u201cThey\u2019re lying that it\u2019s the U.S.\u201d in reference to the regime\u2019s media propaganda that blames the country\u2019s economic problems on foreign powers. The protesters of Isfahan are also calling for solidarity and resistance against the regime, chanting, \u201cDon\u2019t be afraid. We\u2019re all together.\u201d And this seems apparent, as the number of protesters has reached in thousands.<\/p>\nhttps:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/2018\/08\/01\/maryam-rajavi-iran-regime\/<\/p>\nA large group of people gathered in the city\u2019s Amir Kabir industrial district \u2014 renamed to Shapur \u2014 to protest against the increased cost of living, the continuous power outages, and the corrupt policies of the Iranian regime.<\/p>\nMerchants and retailers have closed their shops and gone on strike. Shop owners held banners in protest to high prices and their economic difficulties.<\/p>\nThe people are chanting slogans that reflect the current economic woes, such as, \u201cDeath to high prices. Death to unemployment. Iranians, Shapuris, support the protesters. Corrupt authorities must resign.\u201d Slogans like, \u201cDeath to the dictator. Reformists, principlists, the game is over,\u201d target the regime in its entirety. The protesters also call the regime\u2019s promises \u201chollow lies\u201d.<\/p>\nWhile a large contingent of its suppressive forces have been dispatched to control the situation, the protesters continue to confront the security forces, and carry on with their protests. \nMany cities, including Isfahan, have seen continuous unrest since nationwide protests that spread across the country in late December, early January.<\/p>\nRecently, the farmers of Isfahan have also been protesting against lack of access to water and the regime\u2019s corrupt and incompetent management of the country\u2019s resources.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\u2018Down with the Dictator\u2019 Protestors attacked with tear gas as Iran erupts in flames On Wednesday, for the second consecutive day, the people of Isfahan rallied against the Iranian regime\u2019s corruption and the declining economic situation.
