The Iranian regime has escalated its brutal crackdown on dissent by sentencing six political prisoners to death<\/a>. This alarming decision, announced by Judge Iman Afshari of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran, follows months of interrogation and alleged torture. The condemned individuals\u2014Abolhassan Montazer, Pouya Ghobadi, Vahid Bani-Amrian, Babak Alipour, Ali Akbar Daneshvarkar, and Mohammad Taghavi\u2014face charges including \u201cmembership in the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>),\u201d \u201ccollusion against national security,\u201d and \u201carmed rebellion against the government\u201d.<\/p>\n
