UK, Southampton\u2014December 10, 2024<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
UK, December 10, 2024:<\/strong> On the occasion of Human Rights Day (Dec 10), freedom-loving Iranians and academics in Southampton supporting the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) organized a book and photo exhibition\u00a0to protest the death sentences handed to six political prisoners<\/a>\u00a0linked to the\u00a0 PMOI<\/a>.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The organizers also condemned the Iranian regime\u2019s ongoing crimes against the Iranian people and expressed solidarity with the ongoing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/iran-protests-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Iranian Revolution<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The event highlighted the dire human rights situation in Iran, particularly focusing on political prisoners facing death sentences, and called for the immediate release of all political prisoners held by the mullahs\u2019 regime.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition also called on the UK government to formally designate the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2023\/04\/irans-regime-irgc-a-state-sponsored-terrorist-organization\/44858\/\">IRGC<\/a>\u00a0as a terrorist organization and to close the Iranian regime\u2019s embassy, which is viewed as a center of espionage and terror. Members of Sheffield\u2019s Iranian community called for the international prosecution of Iran\u2019s leaders for crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n<p>The Academics In Exile Association stated on the X platform:\u00a0<em>\u201cUrgent: A book table to save six political prisoners in Iran from imminent execution. Let\u2019s stand in solidarity and support those facing execution.
