Manchester, UK \u2013 January 9, 2025:<\/strong> Iranians, members of the Academics in Exile Association supporting the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a><\/span>), organized an exhibition in England to condemn human rights violations in Iran.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The event spotlighted the dire human rights situation in Iran, particularly the plight of political prisoners facing death sentences. It called for the immediate release of all political detainees held by the mullahs\u2019 regime and condemned the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2024\/12\/urgent-action-required-six-political-prisoners-sentenced-to-death-in-iran\/67727\/\" rel=\"\">death sentences issued against six political prisoners<\/a> associated with the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/peoples-mojahedin-pmoi-mek-iran\/\" rel=\"\">PMOI<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition expressed solidarity with the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/iran-protests-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Iranian Revolution<\/a>, highlighting a shared dedication to freedom and democracy. The organizers reaffirmed their vision for a democratic republic in Iran, unequivocally rejecting all forms of dictatorship, including the theocratic rule of the mullahs and any potential restoration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shah<\/a>\u2018s regime.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, it urged the UK government to officially designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2023\/04\/irans-regime-irgc-a-state-sponsored-terrorist-organization\/44858\/\">IRGC<\/a>) as a terrorist organization and to close the Iranian regime\u2019s embassy, described as a hub for espionage and terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>The Academics in Exile Association stated on Facebook: \u201c<em>The\u00a0Academics in Exile Association organized an exhibition in Manchester on January 1, 2025, to support Iranian political prisoners, especially those at risk of execution.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThroughout 2024, the association has held weekly events in cities such as Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Southampton, Winchester, Ramsey, the Isle of Wight, Dorchester, and others. They have gathered thousands of petitions from British citizens in support of the people and resistance of Iran.\u201d<\/em><br><em>\u201cThis association has kept public opinion and local media informed about the human rights violations in Iran and the Iranian people\u2019s uprisings for freedom. Additionally, organizing conferences and parliamentary sessions has been another aspect of their activities.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\"
