UK, March 15, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Freedom-loving Iranians and academics in England, supporting the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a><\/span>), organized a book exhibition in Southampton to denounce human rights violations in Iran and express solidarity with the Iranian Revolution<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n
The event shed light on Iran\u2019s dire human rights situation, particularly the plight of political prisoners facing execution. Speakers called for the immediate and unconditional release of all political detainees held by the Iranian regime.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"652\" data-end=\"1045\">Additionally, the exhibition urged the UK government to officially designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2023\/04\/irans-regime-irgc-a-state-sponsored-terrorist-organization\/44858\/\">IRGC<\/a> ) as a terrorist organization and shut down the Iranian regime\u2019s embassy, which was described as a hub for espionage and terror operations. Members of Southampton\u2019s Iranian community also demanded the international prosecution of Iran\u2019s leaders for crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n<p>The Academics In Exile Association stated on the X platform: <em>\u201cToday, March 15, 2025, an exhibition table was set up in Southampton, where citizens gathered to sign a petition urging the UK government to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization and expel its agents. <br>The petition also called for an end to torture and the execution of Iranian prisoners, demanding justice for those persecuted under the regime.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">expel its agents.
