April 8, 2025 <\/strong>\u2013 In a powerful video message<\/a> addressed to a U.S. Senate conference on Iran policy, Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi<\/a> laid out a bold and uncompromising strategy to confront Iran\u2019s ruling regime. Her remarks centered on a single, clear principle: lasting change in Iran must come from the people and the organized resistance within the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe time for illusions about reforming the clerical regime is over,\u201d Rajavi declared. \u201cThe world must adopt a decisive political strategy\u2014one that relies on the people of Iran and the Iranian Resistance. This is the only way to end the threats posed by this regime.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mrs. Rajavi warned that the regime in Tehran remains the primary source of war and conflict in the Middle East, a global sponsor of state terrorism, and is aggressively pursuing nuclear weapons. She dismissed past international policies that attempted to moderate the regime\u2019s behavior, labeling them failures based on false assumptions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe regime\u2019s own leaders have made it clear: they will never retreat from repression, terrorism, or their nuclear ambitions,\u201d she said, citing both historical betrayals and constitutional mandates that enshrine the export of extremism.<\/p>\n

At the heart of her message was a stark choice: continue pursuing ineffective diplomacy with a regime that has repeatedly broken its promises, or support the Iranian people\u2019s right to resist. \u201cThe correct strategy,\u201d she emphasized, \u201cis to rely on a Resistance that has endured, exposed the regime\u2019s secrets, and now leads a growing movement inside Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mrs. Rajavi highlighted the role of MEK-led Resistance Units, describing them as \u201cyoung, organized, and deeply committed.\u201d These units, she explained, have not only stood against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC<\/a>), but have also played a critical role in uncovering the regime\u2019s most dangerous nuclear and terrorist operations.<\/p>\n

She condemned the regime\u2019s propaganda efforts to obscure the legitimacy of the resistance, noting that Tehran falsely portrays itself as having no alternative in order to maintain its grip on power. \u201cThis is a calculated lie. The regime fears only one force: the Resistance that has fought it for 46 years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mrs. Rajavi concluded with a direct appeal: \u201cWe do not seek foreign troops or weapons. What we ask is recognition\u2014the international community must stand by the people of Iran and affirm their right to fight for freedom.\u201d She called on the U.S. Senate to take a historic step by officially recognizing the Resistance\u2019s right to resist the IRGC and the ruling regime.<\/p>\n

Her message was not just a call to action\u2014it was a reminder that the future of Iran, and stability in the region, depends on empowering those who are risking everything to bring democracy and justice to their homeland.<\/p>\n
