Manchester, UK \u2013 April 10, 2025<\/strong>: Members of the Academics in Exile Association<\/em>, who support the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>), organized a bookstall and photo exhibition in Manchester to protest the death sentences<\/a> imposed on political prisoners affiliated with the PMOI<\/a>. The event was held in solidarity with political prisoners and in response to the alarming rise in torture and systematic executions in Iran, which have intensified over the past week.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"179\" data-end=\"915\">The organizers condemned the Iranian regime\u2019s ongoing human rights violations and used the event as a direct appeal to UK leaders to take urgent action to save those facing execution and to support global campaigns against the regime\u2019s brutal practices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"917\" data-end=\"1262\">The exhibition shed light on the grave human rights crisis in Iran, particularly the plight of political prisoners at risk of execution. It also called for the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners held by the ruling regime, and expressed strong solidarity with the Iranian people\u2019s struggle for freedom, led by the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/peoples-mojahedin-pmoi-mek-iran\/\" rel=\"\">MEK<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition urged the UK government to officially designate the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2023\/04\/irans-regime-irgc-a-state-sponsored-terrorist-organization\/44858\/\">IRGC<\/a> as a terrorist organization and to shut down the Iranian regime\u2019s embassy, which is considered a hub for espionage and terror. Members of Manchester\u2019s Iranian community demanded the international prosecution of Iran\u2019s leaders for crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n<p>The Academics in Exile Association stated on X platform: <em>\u201cBookstall by the Academics Association in Manchester 10, April.
