On the anniversary of the execution of the first central committee members of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>), along with their fellow Fedayeen and PMOI<\/a> comrades, MEK Resistance Units<\/a> carried out over 60 acts of defiance across cities in Iran. These actions paid tribute to the martyrs who lit the spark of organized resistance against the Shah<\/a>\u2019s dictatorship\u2014an enduring struggle that continues today against the clerical regime.<\/p>\n
On April 19, 1972, the Shah\u2019s regime executed four trailblazing MEK leaders\u2014Ali Bakeri, Nasser Sadegh, Ali Mihandoust, and Mohammad Bazargani\u2014after military trials orchestrated by the notorious SAVAK<\/a> and the Shah\u2019s army. Three years later, on April 19, 1975, nine political prisoners were summarily executed on the hills of Evin Prison, including Bijan Jazani and several Fedayeen comrades, as well as PMOI members Kazem Zolanvar and activist Mostafa Javan Khoshdel.<\/p>\n
