Geneva, Switzerland \u2013 April 24, 2025<\/strong>: Supporters of the Iranian Resistance, including members of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) and the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>), gathered in Nations Square outside the United Nations headquarters in Geneva to commemorate the anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Kazem Rajavi<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Freedom-loving Iranians paid tribute to Prof. Rajavi<\/a>, a distinguished advocate for human rights and a symbol of resistance against tyranny. They called for the prosecution of those responsible for ordering and executing his assassination and demanded they be brought to justice for crimes against humanity and genocide.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"856\" data-end=\"1110\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/terrorism-a-fundamentalism\/u-s-state-department-releases-names-of-dr-kazem-rajavis-assassins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr. Kazem Rajavi<\/a>i, the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/national-council-of-resistance-of-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NCRI<\/a>\u2019s representative in Switzerland, was assassinated near Geneva in 1990 on orders from the Iranian regime\u2014less than two years after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/1988-massacre-of-political-prisoners-in-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1988 massacre<\/a> of 30,000 political prisoners in Iran, most of them MEK members and supporters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1112\" data-end=\"1291\">Participants condemned the Iranian regime\u2019s systemic human rights abuses, with particular emphasis on <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2024\/12\/urgent-action-required-six-political-prisoners-sentenced-to-death-in-iran\/67727\/\" rel=\"\">death sentences<\/a> issued against political prisoners affiliated with the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/peoples-mojahedin-pmoi-mek-iran\/\" rel=\"\">MEK<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"1529\">They urged the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and member states to refer these crimes to the UN Security Council and to establish an international tribunal to hold the regime\u2019s leaders accountable for crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Iranians Rally in Geneva on Dr. Kazem Rajavi\u2019s Assassination Anniversary, Condemn Iran Regime - 3\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EXW0GlpMajo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1840\">The rally also emphasized the Iranian people\u2019s demand for a democratic republic, firmly rejecting both the current theocratic regime and any return to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monarchy<\/a>. Protesters voiced support for the democratic alternative proposed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/national-council-of-resistance-of-iran\/\" rel=\"\">NCRI<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Resistance Units<\/a> inside Iran fighting for freedom and justice.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Iranians Rally in Geneva on Dr. Kazem Rajavi\u2019s Assassination Anniversary, Condemn Iran Regime - 2\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1eQ9Oby7hro?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1842\" data-end=\"2100\">In addition, the event strongly denounced the regime\u2019s brutal repression of women, especially the imposition of forced hijab laws. Demonstrators praised the ongoing resistance of Iranian women and echoed the powerful slogan: <strong data-start=\"2067\" data-end=\"2100\">\u201cWoman, Resistance, Freedom.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2102\" data-end=\"2328\">With their passionate presence, the protesters sent a powerful message to the international community: take a firm stand against the Iranian regime and
