Gothenburg, Sweden \u2013 May 17, 2025 \u2013<\/strong> Supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) gathered in Gothenburg to protest the Iranian regime\u2019s escalating human rights violations, with particular focus on the death sentences<\/a> imposed on political prisoners.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Participants demanded the immediate cancellation of these death sentences and the unconditional release of all political prisoners in Iran. As of 2025, sixty years have passed since the organization\u2019s establishment and its continued fight against two dictatorships\u2014the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-resistance\/iran-1979-anti-monarchical-revolution-never-ended\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">overthrown monarchy<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shah<\/a> and the current religious and terrorist dictatorship of the mullahs. The demonstrators paid tribute to the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/peoples-mojahedin-pmoi-mek-iran\/\" rel=\"\">MEK<\/a>\u2019s six decades of unwavering resistance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"91\" data-end=\"575\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-73709\" src=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Gothenburg-May-17-pic-15.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" data-end=\"1326\">The rally\u2019s organizers called on the Swiss government to take decisive action\u2014specifically, to shut down the Iranian regime\u2019s embassy in Bern and officially designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2023\/04\/irans-regime-irgc-a-state-sponsored-terrorist-organization\/44858\/\" rel=\"\">IRGC<\/a>) as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1328\" data-end=\"1477\">Protesters also reaffirmed their vision for a democratic, secular republic in Iran, firmly rejecting both theocratic rule and any return to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monarchy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1479\" data-end=\"1673\">They urged the international community to recognize the Iranian people\u2019s right to resist oppression and emphasized solidarity with the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MEK Resistance Units<\/a> operating inside Iran against
