Three More Prisons Join the \u201cNo to Execution Tuesdays\u201d Campaign in Its 69th Week<\/h3>\n
Tuesday, May 20, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 In the 69th consecutive week<\/a> of the \u201c No to Executions Tuesdays<\/a>\u201d campaign, prisoners in 44 prisons across Iran are on hunger strike. This campaign, launched by inmates to oppose and demand an end to capital punishment, has continued for over a year.<\/p>\n
**In this week\u2019s statement<\/a>, the hunger-striking prisoners expressed heartfelt gratitude for the widespread solidarity shown by people across the country in support of the campaign.<\/p>\n**
**They also drew attention to the regime\u2019s mismanagement, pointing to the deprivation faced by ordinary citizens:<\/p>\n**

\u201cAt a time when the country is plagued by systemic corruption and the failure of the ruling authoritarian structure\u2014leading to the disruption of daily life and depriving people of basic necessities like water and electricity\u2014the regime has not only failed to halt executions but has escalated them with clear intent.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Full Statement by the Incarcerated Participants in the \u201cNo to Execution Tuesdays\u201d Campaign<\/h3>\n
In its 69th week, the \u201cNo to Execution Tuesdays\u201d campaign has expanded to 44 prisons<\/strong>, with inmates in Mahabad<\/strong>, Bukan<\/strong>, and **Yasuj<\/strong> joining the hunger strike.<\/p>\n**
**The prisoners emphasized:<\/p>\n**

\u201cWhile Iran is suffering from deep-rooted corruption and the collapse of an authoritarian system, the authorities continue to carry out inhumane executions. Rather than being reduced, the pace of executions has increased.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
The regime consistently withholds accurate data on the number of prisoners and executions. However, based on reports received by the campaign, at least 129 individuals<\/strong>\u2014including four women<\/strong>\u2014have been executed since early Ordibehesht (April\u2013May). In just the past week, 25 executions<\/strong> were carried out, among them two juvenile offenders<\/strong> who were hanged in Malayer<\/strong> and Adelabad (Shiraz)<\/strong> prisons. These executions were carried out with blatant disregard for public opinion and international human rights norms, stripping these young individuals of their fundamental **right to life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n**
