Washington, DC \u2013 May 24, 2025: <\/strong>Supporters of the Iranian Resistance from the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) gathered in front of the White House to commemorate the anniversary of the execution of the PMOI\/MEK<\/a>\u2019s founders by the Shah<\/a>\u2019s regime on May 25, 1972.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"113\" data-end=\"562\">The event also marked the 60th anniversary of the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/peoples-mojahedin-pmoi-mek-iran\/\" rel=\"\">MEK<\/a>\u2019s founding in 1965 and six decades of steadfast struggle against two successive dictatorships in Iran: first the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monarchy of the Shah<\/a>, and now the theocratic regime of the mullahs.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">On Memorial Day weekend, Iranian American community leaders gathered and rallied outside the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WhiteHouse?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@WhiteHouse<\/a> to denounce the regime\u2019s continued wave of executions in Iran\u2014a brutal legacy that began under the Shah and has escalated under the mullahs. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SecRubio?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@SecRubio<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepBrianMast?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RepBrianMast<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0RtueoIXZq\">pic.twitter.com\/0RtueoIXZq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 OIAC: Organization of Iranian American Communities (@OrgIAC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OrgIAC\/status\/1926755902255739130?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 25, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"564\" data-end=\"861\">Demonstrators honored the sacrifice of the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/article\/how-meks-founders-defied-the-shahs-regime-and-inspired-irans-freedom-movement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MEK\u2019s founders<\/a> and celebrated the movement\u2019s enduring commitment to freedom, democracy, and a secular republic in Iran. They highlighted the MEK\u2019s pivotal role in resisting both regimes and upholding the Iranian people\u2019s right to sovereignty and justice.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"564\" data-end=\"861\"><img href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2024\/12\/urgent-action-required-six-political-prisoners-sentenced-to-death-in-iran\/67727\/\" rel=\"\">death sentences<\/a> against political
