Manchester, UK \u2013 June 11, 2025:<\/strong> The Academics in Exile Association, which supports the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>), organized a public bookstall and photo exhibition in Manchester to protest the recent surge in executions in Iran.<\/p>\n
The event strongly condemned the death sentences<\/a> handed down to prisoners affiliated with the PMOI<\/a> and demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all political detainees. Held in solidarity with Iran\u2019s prisoners of conscience, the gathering addressed the disturbing rise in torture and systematic executions carried out by the regime in recent days.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"my-0\">Participants also urged the UK government to designate Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2023\/04\/irans-regime-irgc-a-state-sponsored-terrorist-organization\/44858\/\">IRGC<\/a>) as a terrorist organization and to close the Iranian regime\u2019s embassy in London, describing it as a hub of espionage and terrorist activities. Members of the Iranian diaspora in Manchester echoed the call for international legal action against Iran\u2019s ruling authorities for crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"my-0\">Additionally, the academics called for justice, tougher sanctions on the regime, and recognition of the Iranian people\u2019s right to self-defense.
