Brussels, June 28, 2025 \u2013<\/strong> Supporters of the Iranian Resistance including the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) and the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) gathered to protest against the Iranian regime and to voice their support for a democratic alternative. They rejected both war and appeasement, instead backing the \u201c Third Option<\/a>\u201d proposed by Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, the President-elect of the NCRI<\/a>\u2014calling for democratic change led by the Iranian people and the organized Resistance movement.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This demonstration took place amid a wave of brutal repression in Iran following the war with Israel and the recent ceasefire. The regime had intensified its crackdown, with hundreds arrested and at least 140 executions reported in a single month. At prisons like Dizel Abad, violent attacks against inmates were reported, including shootings following protests inside the facility. Iranian communities called on the international community\u2014particularly the Belgian government, the European Union, and the United Nations\u2014to take immediate action to stop further executions and human rights abuses.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"465\" data-end=\"932\">The protesters emphasized their vision for a democratic, secular republic in Iran, unequivocally rejecting both the current theocracy and any restoration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monarchy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"465\" data-end=\"932\">They further called on the international community to recognize the Iranian Resistance and affirm the right of <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MEK Resistance Units<\/a> within Iran to defend themselves against the regime\u2019s
