Brussels, Belgium \u2013 July 23, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Supporters of the Iranian Resistance, including members of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) and the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>), gathered outside the European Parliament in Brussels to protest the clerical regime in Tehran and advocate for a democratic alternative. They called on the European Union to urgently designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC<\/a>) as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"681\" data-end=\"930\">The demonstrators condemned the regime\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2025\/07\/isj-urges-eu-leaders-to-act-against-imminent-executions-of-15-iranian-political-prisoners\/76374\/\" rel=\"\">escalating use of death sentences<\/a> and its intensified crackdown on political prisoners. They called for the immediate annulment of all death sentences and the unconditional release of all political detainees.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"932\" data-end=\"1251\">Protesters denounced the regime\u2019s systematic policy of forcibly transferring political prisoners to remote, high-security prisons\u2014a tactic often used as a prelude to executions or enforced disappearances. Rejecting both foreign military intervention and appeasement of the regime, participants presented this strategy as the only viable path toward a free and democratic Iran.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1991\">Several Iranian, Belgian and European dignitaries attended the rally and expressed solidarity with the protesters. Among them was <strong data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"1672\">Mr. Paulo Casaca<\/strong>, former Member of the European Parliament from Portugal, who delivered a powerful speech. They emphasized the need for a republic founded on the separation of religion and state, gender equality, and the protection of ethnic and religious minorities. The crowd firmly rejected both the current theocratic regime and any return to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monarchical<\/a> rule.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2349\" data-end=\"2580\">In a powerful symbolic act, demonstrators staged protests condemning the regime\u2019s recent wave of executions. They also called for acknowledgment of the right of <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MEK<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Resistance Units<\/a> inside Iran to defend themselves against ongoing state repression.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2908\" data-end=\"3171\">The rally in Brussels highlighted the growing international support for the Iranian people\u2019s aspirations for freedom, justice, and democracy\u2014and sent a clear message to European policymakers: it is time to stand with the Iranian people, not with their oppressors.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2908\" data-end=\"3171\"><img
