Iranians worldwide protest in solidarity \u2014 in response to the execution of political prisoners Mehdi Hassani and Behrouz Ehsani.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
July 27, 2025 \u2014<\/strong> Outrage continues to mount after the Iranian regime executed two political prisoners\u2014Behrouz Ehsani<\/a> and Mehdi Hassani<\/a>, both members of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>). As news of the executions spread, Iranian communities and supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) expanded their protests across the globe.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"692\" data-end=\"728\">Protests Expand to North America<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"730\" data-end=\"820\">In the <strong>United States<\/strong>, Iranian Americans and their supporters staged powerful protests:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"822\" data-end=\"1289\">\n<li data-start=\"822\" data-end=\"1079\">\n<p data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"1079\">In <strong>Washington, D.C<\/strong>., demonstrators gathered in front of the White House, calling the executions \u201ccold-blooded murders\u201d and demanding a stronger U.S. stance. Protesters carried signs reading \u201cStop Executions in Iran\u201d and \u201cSilence is Not an Option.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-end=\"1742\">July 27, 2025<\/strong>, condemning the regime\u2019s brutal executions of two PMOI political prisoners.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1823\" data-end=\"1926\">\n<p data-start=\"1825\" data-end=\"1926\">\u201cThese men were executed simply for saying \u2018No\u2019 to tyranny and \u2018Yes\u2019 to freedom,\u201d said one They warned that <strong data-start=\"1190\" data-end=\"1222\">14 other political prisoners<\/strong>, many of them PMOI members, remain on death row and are in immediate danger.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2738\" data-end=\"2770\">A Renewed International Call<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2772\" data-end=\"2924\">As protests spread across continents, Iranian expatriates and human rights advocates issued a renewed appeal to the international community, urging:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1307\" data-end=\"1436\"><strong data-start=\"1307\" data-end=\"1433\">Immediate annulment of all death sentences for political prisoners and the complete abolition of the death penalty in Iran<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1508\"><strong data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1505\">Unconditional and immediate release of all political prisoners<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1511\" data-end=\"1584\"><strong data-start=\"1511\" data-end=\"1537\">Immediate condemnation of the executions by democratic governments, UN, and human rights defenders,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1587\" data-end=\"1657\"><strong data-start=\"1587\" data-end=\"1632\">Stronger diplomatic and economic pressure on the Iranian regime,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1660\" data-end=\"1774\"><strong data-start=\"1660\" data-end=\"1715\">Deployment of an international fact-finding mission\u00a0to investigate human rights violations in Iranian prisons.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1776\" data-end=\"1992\">\n<p data-start=\"1564\" data-end=\"1678\">\u201cThe regime thrives on silence and inaction,\u201d said protesters. \u201cThe world must act now. Every moment of delay is complicity in these crimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1680\" data-end=\"1896\">\n<p data-start=\"192\" data-end=\"621\">Supporters of the Iranian Resistance also demanded the prosecution of the regime\u2019s top leaders for crimes against humanity in international courts. They expressed their strong support for the ongoing struggle of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MEK\u2019s Resistance Units\u00a0<\/a>inside Iran, fighting to establish freedom and a democratic republic\u2014free from both the former monarchical dictatorship of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shah<\/a>\u00a0and the current religious terrorist dictatorship of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2020\/10\/who-is-ali-khamenei-iranian-regime-supreme-leader\/19254\/\"
