Iranians in Gothenburg rally against executions in Iran, honoring MEK members recently executed by the regime.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) gathered in Gothenburg to mark the 44th consecutive week of local participation in the global \u201c No to Executions Tuesdays<\/a>\u201d campaign. The movement protests the Iranian regime\u2019s escalating wave of executions and systematic repression.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"838\">This week\u2019s rally coincided with the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2025\/07\/seventy-ninth-week-of-no-to-execution-tuesdays-marks-escalating-repression-and-continued-resistance\/76850\/\" rel=\"\">79th consecutive week<\/a>\u00a0of protests by political prisoners across Iran, now spanning 48 prisons. The campaign reflects a growing resistance movement and highlights the urgent need for international attention and action.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"179\" data-end=\"237\">Protesters Condemn Executions of MEK Members in Iran<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"1157\">A central focus of the Gothenburg demonstration was the execution of <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2025\/07\/execution-of-pmoi-political-prisoners-in-iran-behrouz-ehsani-and-mehdi-hassani-hanged\/76751\/\" rel=\"\">Mehdi Hassani<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2025\/07\/execution-of-pmoi-political-prisoners-in-iran-behrouz-ehsani-and-mehdi-hassani-hanged\/76751\/\" rel=\"\">Behrouz Ehsani<\/a>, both members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/about-iranian-opposition-pmoi-mek\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PMO<\/a>, carried out by the regime in Ghezel Hesar Prison. Protesters condemned these killings as politically motivated and emblematic of the regime\u2019s brutal effort to suppress dissent.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Gothenburg Rally Against Executions in Iran, Marking 79th Week of "No to Execution Tuesdays"\u2013July 29\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pv_2zcXhO54?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1370\">Demonstrators strongly denounced the Iranian regime\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2025\/07\/isj-urges-eu-leaders-to-act-against-imminent-executions-of-15-iranian-political-prisoners\/76374\/\" rel=\"\">increasing use of the death penalty<\/a>, calling for the immediate annulment of all death sentences and the unconditional release of political prisoners.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1372\" data-end=\"1696\">They also criticized the regime\u2019s practice of forcibly transferring political prisoners to remote, high-security prisons\u2014a tactic often used as a prelude to executions or enforced disappearances. Protesters drew chilling comparisons to the <a href=\"https:\/\/iran1988.org\/1988-massacre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1988 massacre<\/a>\u00a0of political prisoners, warning that \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/iran-hrm.com\/2025\/07\/17\/saeed-masouris-letter-from-qezel-hesar-prison-a-crime-in-progress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a crime is in progress<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1698\" data-end=\"1916\">Freedom-loving Iranians in Gothenburg expressed support for Mrs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/biography\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/about-ncri\/ncri\/alternative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NCRI<\/a>), and her call to expand the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/campaign-of-no-to-executions-in-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">No to Executions<\/a>\u201d campaign globally.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"335\" data-end=\"409\">Calls for International Action and Recognition of Iranian Resistance<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1918\" data-end=\"2237\">The protesters demanded that the regime\u2019s leaders be prosecuted for crimes against humanity in an international tribunal. They also urged the Swedish government to end its policy of appeasement toward Tehran and to formally designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2023\/04\/irans-regime-irgc-a-state-sponsored-terrorist-organization\/44858\/\" rel=\"\">IRGC<\/a>) as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2239\" data-end=\"2566\">Finally, the demonstrators reaffirmed the Iranian people\u2019s call for a democratic republic, rejecting both religious dictatorship and any return to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monarchy<\/a>. They stressed the importance of recognizing the Iranian Resistance and supporting the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MEK Resistance Units<\/a>\u00a0inside Iran in their fight for freedom and justice.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2239\" data-end=\"2566\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-76914\"
