Gothenburg, Sweden \u2013 August 2, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) gathered in Gothenburg to reaffirm their unwavering support for the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>), recognizing it as the only democratic and viable alternative to Iran\u2019s ruling theocracy.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"795\" data-end=\"1282\">The rally served as both a protest against the regime\u2019s ongoing human rights abuses and a tribute to executed political prisoners, including <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/news\/2025\/07\/execution-of-pmoi-political-prisoners-in-iran-behrouz-ehsani-and-mehdi-hassani-hanged\/76751\/\" rel=\"\">Behrouz Ehsani<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/news\/2025\/07\/execution-of-pmoi-political-prisoners-in-iran-behrouz-ehsani-and-mehdi-hassani-hanged\/76751\/\" rel=\"\"> Mehdi Hassani<\/a>. Demonstrators condemned the rising number of executions in Iran and called for justice for the victims of state violence.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Tribute to executed political prisoners Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani in Gothenburg rally\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/z4MazihPPCg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"795\" data-end=\"1282\">They demanded the blacklisting of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2023\/04\/irans-regime-irgc-a-state-sponsored-terrorist-organization\/44858\/\" rel=\"\">IRGC<\/a>), the closure of the Iranian embassy in Sweden, and stronger international measures against the regime\u2019s crimes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1284\" data-end=\"1686\">At the heart of the event was support for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/biography\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/viewpoints\/regime-change-in-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Third Option<\/a>,\u201d which rejects both foreign military intervention and the policy of appeasement. Instead, it promotes democratic change led by the Iranian people and their organized resistance movement. Rally participants emphasized the importance of supporting this vision as the only realistic path toward a free, secular, and democratic Iran.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Gothenburg rally calls to href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monarchical<\/a>\u2014and emphasized their united support for establishing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/viewpoints\/tomorrow-s-iran\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">secular, democratic republic<\/a> in Iran.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2022\" data-end=\"2280\">The gathering concluded with a powerful appeal to the global community: to stand with the Iranian people, to recognize their right to resist tyranny, and to support the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MEK<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/resistanceunits.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Resistance Units<\/a> in their fight for a future grounded in democracy and human dignity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2022\" data-end=\"2280\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone
