What are resistance units?<\/h3>\n
Resistance units are the smallest units of the Resistance\u2019s force<\/a>; the \u2018resistance units\u2019 are the fundamental blocks of the MEK network inside Iran.<\/p>\n
A resistance unit is a group of more than two individuals formed in a neighborhood, university, factory, school, etc. which is in contact with the MEK<\/a> and acts against the religious dictatorship ruling Iran.<\/p>\n
The \u2018resistance units\u2019 are the fundamental blocks of the MEK<\/a> network inside Iran that are active in overthrowing the dictatorship of Velayat-e-faqih to liberate Iran and restore popular sovereignty.<\/p>\n

About the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran\u00a0 (PMOI \/ MEK)\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\nThe People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran \u2013 PMOI\/MEK<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As the resistance units are integrated in the society it\u2019s a hard task for the enemy to identify them, thus, while maintaining their security, they can significantly strike at the enemy and actively participate in organizing social protests.<\/p>\n<p>What is the history of resistance units?<\/p>\n<p>A \u2018resistance unit\u2019 is a term that was first introduced by Che Guevara during the Latin American revolutions. They were units that fought against the dictators of these countries. The term entered the world\u2019s literature then after and in Iran these units were referred to as \u2018resistance cells\u2019 during 1980s.<\/p>\n<p>The resistance units have stemmed from a strategy which aims at the overthrow of a dictatorial regime.<\/p>\n<p>When a group of elites rule the country and recognize no rights for the people, this is a dictatorial regime and the people have the right to revolt and overthrow it.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Setting the banner of Khomeini and Khamenei alight, Khormoj, Bushehr Province\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FSSkAo_afsA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As stated in the introduction to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/universal-declaration-human-rights\/\">the Universal Declaration of Human Rights<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhereas it is essential, if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the 1980s, Iran\u2019s resistance units were referred to as \u201d resistance cells\u201d, but since the beginning of September 2013, following the Iranian regime\u2019s attack on Camp Ashraf which resulted in the death of 52 of MEK members, <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/massoud-rajavi-mek-pmoi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Massoud Rajavi, Iran\u2019s Resistance leader<\/a>, announced the roadmap for creating 1,000 Ashrafs (resistance units) inside Iran.
