Gothenburg, Sweden \u2013 August 16, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) gathered in Gothenburg to reaffirm their support for Maryam Rajavi<\/a>\u2019s Third Option<\/a>\u00a0and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>) as the only democratic alternative to Iran\u2019s theocratic regime.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"760\" data-end=\"1023\">Participants expressed concern over the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2025\/08\/five-iranian-political-prisoners-at-imminent-risk-of-execution-after-transfer-to-ghezel-hesar\/77204\/\" rel=\"\">imminent execution of five political prisoners<\/a> and called for the abolition of the death penalty, the release of all political prisoners, and global recognition of the Iranian people\u2019s right to resist tyranny.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1025\" data-end=\"1271\">The demonstrators demanded stronger international measures, including the blacklisting of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2023\/04\/irans-regime-irgc-a-state-sponsored-terrorist-organization\/44858\/\" rel=\"\">IRGC<\/a>) and the closure of the Iranian embassy in Sweden, to hold Tehran accountable for its human rights violations.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Rally in Gothenburg Supports Maryam Rajavi's Third Option and NCRI\u2019s Democratic Alternative\u2013Aug 16\u20132\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cWUEN6uqcDc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1273\" data-end=\"1693\">A central focus of the rally was support for <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/maryam-rajavi\/\" rel=\"\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/viewpoints\/plan-for-future-of-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ten-Point Plan<\/a> for Iran\u2019s Future, which advocates universal suffrage, gender equality, freedom of speech and assembly, autonomy for ethnic minorities, separation of religion and state, a non-nuclear Iran, and other democratic reforms. Attendees emphasized that this plan offers a clear and realistic roadmap for a free, secular, and democratic Iran.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1695\" data-end=\"1884\">Speakers condemned all forms of dictatorship, whether clerical or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monarchical<\/a>, stressing that Iran\u2019s future must be grounded in democracy, human rights, and the sovereignty of its people.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1886\" data-end=\"2126\">The rally concluded with a call to the international community: to stand with the Iranian people, recognize their right to resist tyranny, and support the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MEK<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/resistanceunits.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"
