Gothenburg, Sweden \u2013 August 19, 2025: <\/strong>Supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>) gathered in Gothenburg to mark the 47th consecutive week of local participation in the global \u201c No to Execution Tuesdays<\/a>\u201d campaign. The movement protests the Iranian regime\u2019s escalating wave of executions and systematic repression.<\/p>\n
This week\u2019s rally coincided with the 82nd consecutive week<\/a> of protests by political prisoners across Iran, now spanning 49 prisons. The campaign reflects a growing resistance movement and highlights the urgent need for international attention and action.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"179\" data-end=\"237\">Protesters Condemn Executions of MEK Members in Iran<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"143\" data-end=\"515\">A central focus of the Gothenburg demonstration was to raise the alarm over the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2025\/08\/five-iranian-political-prisoners-at-imminent-risk-of-execution-after-transfer-to-ghezel-hesar\/77204\/\" rel=\"\">imminent execution of five political prisoners<\/a> in Iran: Vahid Bani-Amerian, Pouya Ghobadi, Shahrokh Daneshvarkar, Mohammad Taghavi, and Babak Alipour. The Iranian regime has transferred them to Ghezel Hesar Prison\u2014infamous for its frequent executions\u2014putting their lives in immediate peril.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"517\" data-end=\"697\">The protest also denounced the recent state-sanctioned executions of PMOI members <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2025\/07\/execution-of-pmoi-political-prisoners-in-iran-behrouz-ehsani-and-mehdi-hassani-hanged\/76751\/\" rel=\"\">Mehdi Hassani<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2025\/07\/execution-of-pmoi-political-prisoners-in-iran-behrouz-ehsani-and-mehdi-hassani-hanged\/76751\/\" rel=\"\">Behrouz Ehsani<\/a>, underscoring the regime\u2019s intensifying campaign of repression.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1370\">Demonstrators strongly denounced the Iranian regime\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/human-rights\/2025\/07\/isj-urges-eu-leaders-to-act-against-imminent-executions-of-15-iranian-political-prisoners\/76374\/\" rel=\"\">increasing use of the death penalty<\/a>, calling for the immediate annulment of all death sentences and the unconditional release of political prisoners.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1698\" data-end=\"1916\">Freedom-loving Iranians in Gothenburg expressed support for Mrs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/biography\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/about-ncri\/ncri\/alternative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NCRI<\/a>), and her call to expand the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/campaign-of-no-to-executions-in-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">No to Executions<\/a>\u201d campaign globally.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"335\" data-end=\"409\">Calls for International Action and Recognition of Iranian Resistance<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1918\" data-end=\"2237\">The protesters demanded that the regime\u2019s leaders be prosecuted for crimes against humanity in an international tribunal. They also urged the Swedish government to end its policy of appeasement toward Tehran and to formally designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (<a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2023\/04\/irans-regime-irgc-a-state-sponsored-terrorist-organization\/44858\/\" rel=\"\">IRGC<\/a>) as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2239\" data-end=\"2566\">Finally, the demonstrators reaffirmed the Iranian people\u2019s call for a democratic republic, rejecting both religious dictatorship and any return to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monarchy<\/a>. They stressed the importance of recognizing the Iranian Resistance and supporting the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/t\/iranian-resistance-units\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MEK Resistance Units<\/a>\u00a0inside Iran in their fight for freedom and justice.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2239\" data-end=\"2566\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-77656\"
