On September 6, 2025, Brussels became the stage for a defining moment in Iran\u2019s struggle for democracy. The Free Iran 2025 Rally<\/a> brought together Iranian expatriates, global leaders, and supporters of freedom. Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>), delivered a powerful speech<\/a> marking the 60th anniversary of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/a>).<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1177\" data-end=\"1216\">Sixty Years of Unbroken Resistance<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1218\" data-end=\"1476\"><a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/maryam-rajavi\/\" rel=\"\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a> opened by honoring six decades of relentless struggle \u2014 fourteen years under the Shah, forty-six under the clerical regime. \u201cNot a single day or hour of pause,\u201d she emphasized, celebrating the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/peoples-mojahedin-pmoi-mek-iran\/\" rel=\"\">PMOI<\/a>\u2019s sixty unextinguished flames of resistance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1478\" data-end=\"1703\">She paid tribute to martyrs from <strong>Ahmad Rezaii<\/strong>, the first, to <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/news\/2025\/07\/execution-of-pmoi-political-prisoners-in-iran-behrouz-ehsani-and-mehdi-hassani-hanged\/76751\/\" rel=\"\">Behrouz Ehsani<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/news\/2025\/07\/execution-of-pmoi-political-prisoners-in-iran-behrouz-ehsani-and-mehdi-hassani-hanged\/76751\/\" rel=\"\">Mehdi Hassani<\/a>, whose 40th day of martyrdom had just passed. She also honored political prisoner <strong>Mehran Bahramian<\/strong>, newly fallen in the struggle.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1710\" data-end=\"1767\">Honoring Loyalty, Sacrifice, and Founding Principles<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1769\" data-end=\"2088\">Mrs. Rajavi described the PMOI\u2019s essence as loyalty to the pledge of freedom, boundless sacrifice, and the union of politics with honor. She praised <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/founders-of-the-mojahedin-mohammad-hanifnejad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mohammad Hanifnejad<\/a>, the founder, for breaking deadlocks and rising against both fundamentalism and the distortion of divine messages from Prophet Mohammad and Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2095\" data-end=\"2130\">The Secret of PMOI\u2019s Endurance<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2132\" data-end=\"2464\">Facing prisons, torture, bullets, and execution, the PMOI endured and prevailed. \u201cThe Shah fell, and the mullahs will fall as well,\u201d Rajavi declared. Despite relentless demonization, the organization emerged each time from the ashes, now forming, within the NCRI, the only democratic and independent alternative for Iran\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Free Iran 2025 Onward to a Democratic Republic-Brussels<br>The PMOI\/MEK was founded 60 years ago, fighting 14 years against the Shah\u2019s tyranny, and 46 years against the mullahs, without even an hour of pause. Today, the PMOI lights 60 shining\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5aoKzSP6Q3\">pic.twitter.com\/5aoKzSP6Q3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Maryam Rajavi (@Maryam_Rajavi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Maryam_Rajavi\/status\/1964313177178722411?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 6, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2471\" data-end=\"2538\">International Support and the Exposed Deception of the Mullahs<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2540\" data-end=\"2743\">Mrs. Rajavi welcomed distinguished guests: former U.S. Vice President <strong>Mike Pence<\/strong>, Prof. <strong>Alejo Vidal-Quadras<\/strong>, Prime Minister <strong>Guy Verhofstadt<\/strong>, the Hon. <strong>John Bercow<\/strong>, and the Hon. <strong>Patrick Kennedy<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2745\" data-end=\"3010\">She quoted Mike Pence\u2019s 2022 visit to Ashraf 3, where he dismantled the regime\u2019s biggest lie \u2014 that there was no alternative. \u201cWell-organized, fully prepared, perfectly qualified,\u201d Pence had said, confirming the PMOI as the solution the world had long overlooked.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3012\" data-end=\"3299\">Rajavi lamented that earlier recognition of this alternative could have prevented wars, crises, and decades of suffering. She revisited history, recalling the 1953 coup against Dr. Mossadegh \u2014 a turning point that restored dictatorship and ultimately paved the way for Khomeini\u2019s rise.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3306\" data-end=\"3354\">The Ten Immediate Tasks After Regime Change<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3356\" data-end=\"3519\">Mrs. Rajavi detailed the NCRI\u2019s blueprint for a six-month interim government after the regime\u2019s overthrow. Originally defined in 1982, these ten urgent tasks include:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"3521\" data-end=\"4292\">\n<li data-start=\"3521\" data-end=\"3558\">\n<p data-start=\"3524\" data-end=\"3558\">Freeing all political prisoners.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3559\" data-end=\"3661\">\n<p data-start=\"3562\" data-end=\"3661\">Disarming and dissolving all repressive forces, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2023\/04\/irans-regime-irgc-a-state-sponsored-terrorist-organization\/44858\/\" rel=\"\">IRGC<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/article\/basij-irans-most-hated-paramilitary-force\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Basij<\/a>, and censorship bodies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3662\" data-end=\"3735\">\n<p data-start=\"3665\" data-end=\"3735\">Restoring rights to unjustly purged workers, teachers, and retirees.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3736\" data-end=\"3811\">\n<p data-start=\"3739\" data-end=\"3811\">Inviting patriotic experts, at home and abroad, to return and rebuild.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3812\" data-end=\"3882\">\n<p data-start=\"3815\" data-end=\"3882\">Ensuring full gender equality and ending all oppression of women.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3883\" data-end=\"3963\">\n<p data-start=\"3886\" data-end=\"3963\">Granting autonomy to Iranian Kurdistan within Iran\u2019s territorial integrity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3964\" data-end=\"4057\">\n<p data-start=\"3967\" data-end=\"4057\">Holding public trials for crimes of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shah<\/a> and Khomeini regimes with full due process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4058\" data-end=\"4129\">\n<p data-start=\"4061\" data-end=\"4129\">Guaranteeing the right to defense and the independence of the bar.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4130\" data-end=\"4198\">\n<p data-start=\"4133\" data-end=\"4198\">Ensuring universities\u2019 independence and council-led governance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4199\" data-end=\"4292\">\n<p data-start=\"4203\" data-end=\"4292\">Formally recognizing all rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"4294\" data-end=\"4408\">She reminded listeners that these principles evolved into the internationally recognized Ten-Point Plan in 2006.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4415\" data-end=\"4480\">The PMOI\u2019s Greatest \u201cCrime\u201d: Giving Power Back to the People<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"4482\" data-end=\"4775\">Mrs. Rajavi underlined that the PMOI seeks no power for itself. Its goal is freedom and the transfer of sovereignty to the people \u2014 a crime in the eyes of Iran\u2019s rulers. From Khomeini\u2019s fatwa for annihilation to Khamenei\u2019s new death sentences, the regime continues to fear the PMOI\u2019s persistence.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4782\" data-end=\"4854\">Pride in Resistance: From Exposing Lies to Leading Women\u2019s Equality<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"4856\" data-end=\"5200\">Mrs. Rajavi listed the Resistance\u2019s defining achievements \u2014 rejecting the Velayat-e Faqih constitution, exposing false religious claims, raising the banner of peace during the Iran-Iraq war, dismantling the regime\u2019s war machine, exposing nuclear ambitions, forming a Liberation Army, establishing Resistance Units, and championing gender equality.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5202\" data-end=\"5468\">She paid tribute to the pioneering women who have led the PMOI: Fahimeh Arvani, Shahrzad Sadr, Mahvash Sepehri, Beheshteh Shadrou, Mojgan Parsaii, Sediqeh Hosseini, Zohreh Akhiyani, and now <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/news\/pmoi-secretary-general-zahra-merrikhi-sixty-years-of-resistance-and-sacrifice-for-freedom-in-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zahra Merrikhi<\/a> \u2014 all shaping a new model of leadership for a free society.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"5475\" data-end=\"5529\">A Democratic Revolution and a Democratic Republic<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"5531\" data-end=\"5732\">Echoing <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/massoud-rajavi-mek-pmoi\/\" rel=\"\">Massoud Rajavi<\/a>\u2019s 1979 declaration, she reaffirmed the demand: \u201cA Democratic Revolution!\u201d She called for a Democratic Republic, democratic rights, and freedoms for all Iranians \u2014 nothing less.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Free Iran 2025 Onward to a Democratic Republic<br>We want a democratic revolution, a democratic republic, and democratic rights and freedoms for all!<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/MEK60?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#MEK60<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kz3FQioG2k\">pic.twitter.com\/kz3FQioG2k<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Maryam Rajavi (@Maryam_Rajavi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Maryam_Rajavi\/status\/1964370621543981375?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 6, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"5739\" data-end=\"5810\">The Third Option: Regime Change by the People and Their Resistance<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"5812\" data-end=\"5999\">Mrs. Rajavi rejected both appeasement and war as solutions to Iran\u2019s crisis. The only path forward is the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/viewpoints\/regime-change-in-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Third Option<\/a>\u201d \u2014 regime change by the Iranian people and their organized resistance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6001\" data-end=\"6029\">She urged Western nations:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"6030\" data-end=\"6228\">\n<li data-start=\"6030\" data-end=\"6085\">\n<p data-start=\"6032\" data-end=\"6085\">Designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization now.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"6086\" data-end=\"6171\">\n<p data-start=\"6088\" data-end=\"6171\">Enforce UN Security Council resolutions against the regime\u2019s nuclear program now.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"6172\" data-end=\"6228\">\n<p data-start=\"6174\" data-end=\"6228\">Recognize the Resistance Units\u2019 right to resist now.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"6230\" data-end=\"6333\">\u201cThis decisiveness,\u201d she stressed, \u201cserves the Iranian people and ensures regional and global peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"6340\" data-end=\"6395\">A Call to Action: Uprising, Overthrow, and Victory<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"6397\" data-end=\"6577\">Closing her speech, Rajavi turned directly to the Iranian people: \u201cThe time for uprising and rebellion has arrived. Look within yourselves \u2014 you will find the rebel for freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6579\" data-end=\"6693\">She warned the mullahs: \u201cNo executions, prisons, torture, or economic suffering will save your decaying regime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6695\" data-end=\"6960\">And to Iran\u2019s vanguard generation \u2014 women, youth, all who seek democracy and equality \u2014 she declared: \u201cIt is in your hands. You will ignite the uprising. You will liberate Iran. You will achieve victory and build the future. It can be done \u2014 and it must be done!\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"6967\" data-end=\"7012\">A Roadmap Toward a Free Iran<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"7014\" data-end=\"7357\">From Brussels to Tehran, from sixty years of sacrifice to the promise of victory, Maryam Rajavi\u2019s speech was not merely a commemoration \u2014 it was a blueprint for Iran\u2019s democratic future.
