Thousands Gather Outside the United Nations<\/h3>\n
On Tuesday, September 24, thousands of Iranian Americans and supporters of the Iranian Resistance gathered for the second consecutive day outside the United Nations headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"600\" data-end=\"1030\">The demonstrators condemned the presence of regime president\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/who-is-masoud-pezeshkian\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Masoud Pezeshkian<\/a> at the UN General Assembly and declared their support for the National Council of Resistance of Iran (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/about-ncri\/alternative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NCRI<\/a>) and its President-elect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/biography\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1032\" data-end=\"1147\">The crowd\u2019s unified chant was loud and clear: <em data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1145\">\u201cNo to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shah<\/a>, no to the mullahs\u2014yes to a democratic republic.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"2025 Free Iran NY Rally - Day 2 - Sept 24, 2025 - Vid 5\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8NLlJolSAS0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1154\" data-end=\"1197\">Maryam Rajavi: The People\u2019s True Voice<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1199\" data-end=\"1341\">In a video message, <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/maryam-rajavi\/\" rel=\"\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a> saluted the protesters, calling them \u201cthe true voice of the Iranian people before the United Nations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1343\" data-end=\"1497\">She stressed that the demonstrations in New York mirrored uprisings across Iran\u2014in Tehran, Mashhad, Ahvaz, Tabriz, Zahedan<strong data-start=\"1426\" data-end=\"1470\">,<\/strong> and even inside prisons.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1499\" data-end=\"1646\">\n<p data-start=\"1501\" data-end=\"1646\">\u201cThe message is very simple and clear: Overthrow and democratic change\u2014a democratic republic, with freedom and democratic rights,\u201d Rajavi said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1648\" data-end=\"1909\">Mrs. Rajavi emphasized the regime\u2019s brutality, noting that 1,817 executions had taken place in just 14 months. She called for accountability in international courts for crimes against humanity and urged world leaders to stop appeasing the clerical rulers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1911\" data-end=\"1966\">Rejecting all forms of dictatorship, Rajavi declared:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1967\" data-end=\"2176\">\n<p data-start=\"1969\" data-end=\"2176\">\u201cWe want neither a mullah nor a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shah<\/a>. The era of all dictatorships, whether religious or monarchical, is over. Our message for Iran\u2019s future is simple: the sovereignty of the people\u2014the people\u2019s republic.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Message to the New York Rally<br>You are the voice of the Iranian people, not the president of the Supreme Leader!<br>So, we have every right to ask: What is the representative of such an anti-human regime doing here?<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/2025FreeIranNYRally?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#2025FreeIranNYRally<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LZCrfmxPgx\">pic.twitter.com\/LZCrfmxPgx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Maryam Rajavi (@Maryam_Rajavi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Maryam_Rajavi\/status\/1970852786305999023?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 24, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2183\" data-end=\"2239\">Judge Michael Mukasey: The Regime Is at Its Weakest<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2241\" data-end=\"2394\"><strong data-start=\"2241\" data-end=\"2295\">Former U.S. Attorney General Judge Michael Mukasey<\/strong> addressed the crowd, highlighting the regime\u2019s vulnerability despite its intensified repression.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2396\" data-end=\"2507\">\n<p data-start=\"2398\" data-end=\"2507\">\u201cConditions are more favorable now for the collapse of the regime than they have been in decades,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2509\" data-end=\"2660\">He dismissed Pezeshkian as \u201ca mouthpiece for the mullahs,\u201d noting that being a physician did not make him any different from past killers like Assad.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2662\" data-end=\"2752\">Mukasey urged the international community to gather evidence of the regime\u2019s atrocities:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2753\" data-end=\"2907\">\n<p data-start=\"2755\" data-end=\"2907\">\u201cWe should be compiling testimony and documentation of what they did\u2014the massacres, the phony trials, the executions\u2014so that the evidence is at hand.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2909\" data-end=\"3080\">He also warned against false alternatives, making clear that Maryam Rajavi\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/viewpoints\/plan-for-future-of-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ten-Point Plan<\/a>\u00a0is the only credible path to a democratic, secular, non-nuclear republic.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"2025 Free Iran NY Rally - Day 2 - Sept 24, 2025 - Vid 7\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R2vfHr9JkEc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3087\" data-end=\"3124\">Soona Samsami: Defiance and Hope<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3126\" data-end=\"3254\"><strong data-start=\"3126\" data-end=\"3172\">Soona Samsami, NCRI\u2019s U.S. Representative,<\/strong> told the rally that the demonstration represented both resistance and optimism.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"3256\" data-end=\"3420\">\n<p data-start=\"3258\" data-end=\"3420\">\u201cWe are here for one reason: to reject the president of a regime that massacres prisoners, suppresses women and youth, and races for nuclear weapons,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"3422\" data-end=\"3483\">She underlined that the movement carries a hopeful message:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"3484\" data-end=\"3570\">\n<p data-start=\"3486\" data-end=\"3570\">\u201cThere is an organized resistance and a leader with a vision: Mrs. Maryam Rajavi.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 data-start=\"3577\" data-end=\"3625\">Judge Ted Poe: Freedom Is a God-Given Right<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3627\" data-end=\"3715\"><strong data-start=\"3627\" data-end=\"3668\">Former U.S. Congressman Judge Ted Poe<\/strong> drew on America\u2019s own history of resistance.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"3717\" data-end=\"3905\">\n<p data-start=\"3719\" data-end=\"3905\">\u201cWhenever any government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish that government. That sounds like something y\u2019all would say,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"3907\" data-end=\"3987\">Poe praised the Iranian Resistance for its historic role in defeating tyranny:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"3988\" data-end=\"4080\">\n<p data-start=\"3990\" data-end=\"4080\">\u201cIt didn\u2019t start with the mullahs. It started with removing another dictator, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shah<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"4082\" data-end=\"4128\">He rejected any attempt to restore monarchy:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"4129\" data-end=\"4318\">\n<p data-start=\"4131\" data-end=\"4318\">\u201cYou gave your lives to get rid of a dictator because you wanted to be free. Now some are talking about replacing that dictator with one of his family members. That is not a good idea.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"4320\" data-end=\"4384\">Highlighting the courage of Iran\u2019s women and youth, Poe added:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"4385\" data-end=\"4545\">\n<p data-start=\"4387\" data-end=\"4545\">\u201cSo many young women have given their lives just for what you\u2019re standing here for today. Woe be to the mullahs\u2014they do not know what they\u2019re dealing with.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe title=\"New York Rally, Day 2 \u2013 2025 09 24 (Excerpt)\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QL7cMHgxhlY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4552\" data-end=\"4604\">Ambassador Marc Ginsberg: Decades of Solidarity<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"4606\" data-end=\"4725\"><strong data-start=\"4606\" data-end=\"4657\">Former U.S. Ambassador to Morocco Marc Ginsberg<\/strong> reflected on over 40 years of support for the Iranian Resistance.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"4727\" data-end=\"4914\">\n<p data-start=\"4729\" data-end=\"4914\">\u201cI have stood against the mullahs, inspired by the democratic ideals of the people\u2019s resistance and Madam Maryam Rajavi, who I respect and admire so much as a friend and as a leader.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"4916\" data-end=\"5018\">He praised the <strong data-start=\"4931\" data-end=\"4963\">Resistance Units inside Iran<\/strong> and emphasized the futility of monarchist nostalgia:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"5019\" data-end=\"5173\">\n<p data-start=\"5021\" data-end=\"5173\">\u201cThe Iranian people will not turn back the clock to the days of kings doling out little bits and pieces of democracy while they rule from the throne.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"5175\" data-end=\"5334\">Ginsberg highlighted the NCRI\u2019s intelligence work that blocked Tehran\u2019s nuclear ambitions and hailed <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/articles\/2019\/08\/ashraf-3-home-to-iranian-opposition-group-mek-in-albania\/12507\/\" rel=\"\">Ashraf 3<\/a>\u00a0as \u201can aspiration for freedom and justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"5341\" data-end=\"5376\">Voices of the Young Generation<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"5378\" data-end=\"5477\">Several young Iranian Americans also spoke, tying their family histories to the ongoing struggle.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"5479\" data-end=\"6504\">\n<li data-start=\"5479\" data-end=\"5691\">\n<p data-start=\"5481\" data-end=\"5544\"><strong data-start=\"5481\" data-end=\"5500\">Maryam Hosseini<\/strong>, daughter of a former political prisoner:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"5547\" data-end=\"5691\">\n<p data-start=\"5549\" data-end=\"5691\">\u201cEven in the darkest prisons, they cannot extinguish the light of freedom. No to the Shah. No to the mullahs. Yes to a democratic republic.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5693\" data-end=\"5980\">\n<p data-start=\"5695\" data-end=\"5758\"><strong data-start=\"5695\" data-end=\"5714\">Emma Vali Beigi<\/strong>, cousin of a victim of the 1988 massacre:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"5761\" data-end=\"5980\">\n<p data-start=\"5763\" data-end=\"5980\">\u201cThe Shah\u2019s regime was also a repressive force. We cannot afford to choose between one dictatorship and another. Iran deserves better\u2026 Down with the dictator! Down with the oppressor! Be it the Shah or the mullahs!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5982\" data-end=\"6256\">\n<p data-start=\"5984\" data-end=\"6054\"><strong data-start=\"5984\" data-end=\"6004\">Mani Mansourpour<\/strong>, holding a photo of his uncle executed in 1988:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"6057\" data-end=\"6256\">\n<p data-start=\"6059\" data-end=\"6256\">\u201cPezeshkian represents Khamenei and all the crimes associated with him for over four decades.
