As the 97th week<\/a> of the \u201cNo to Execution Tuesdays<\/a>\u201d<\/em> campaign unfolds on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, voices from inside 55 prisons across Iran once again rise in defiance against the regime\u2019s machinery of death. This week\u2019s statement\u2014issued on the eve of Student Day\u2014highlights both the historic role of Iran\u2019s student movement and the urgent danger facing 23-year-old political prisoner and student, Ehsan Faridi<\/strong>, who is now under the threat of execution for defending freedom.<\/p>\n

Student Day and the Enduring Legacy of Resistance<\/h3>\n

Since December 7, 1953, Iran\u2019s universities have stood as the frontline of resistance against dictatorship. The movement\u2019s sacrifices\u2014such as the case of Saeed Zeynali<\/em>, disappeared since the 1999 dormitory attack\u2014symbolize the price generations of students have paid in the struggle for liberty.
Yet repression has failed to silence them. Today, the regime once again targets the student community, demonstrating its fear of an awakened society.<\/p>\n

A Wave of Executions that Shocks Even Iran\u2019s Dark Record<\/h3>\n

In the first ten days of Azar alone, nearly 100 prisoners<\/strong> were executed\u2014two of them women\u2014and one execution was carried out publicly to intimidate the population.
Since March 20, 2025, the total number of executions has reached 1,564<\/strong>, marking the highest level in three decades. This unprecedented brutality has ignited global condemnation of the regime\u2019s execution-driven repression.<\/p>\n
