Mrs. Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>), addressed<\/a> a briefing for members of the U.S. Senate, outlining the Iranian Resistance\u2019s strategy for ending clerical rule and transferring power to the Iranian people through a democratic process.<\/p>\n
She thanked U.S. lawmakers for their attention to the situation in Iran and their continued support for the Iranian people\u2019s struggle for freedom and democracy. Mrs. Rajavi<\/a> highlighted House Resolution 166, supported by 226 members of Congress, which backs the Iranian people\u2019s demand for a democratic, secular, and nonnuclear republic and recognizes the right of protesters and Resistance Units to confront the IRGC<\/a>.<\/p>\n
