In August, mullahs\u2019 apparatus for spreading false information<\/a> against the Iranian resistance and the MEK in cyberspace received a heavy blow. The internet behemoths collectively shut down hundreds of accounts tied to the Iranian regime<\/a> used for coordinated disinformation <\/u>campaigns.<\/p>\n

In this regard, FireEye said, \u201cthis campaign used a network of fake news websites and fraudulent social media personas spread across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google Plus and YouTube, to push narratives in line with Tehran\u2019s interests<\/a>.\u201c (Reuters, August 22, 2018)<\/p>\n

Coordinated disinformation<\/u><\/strong> and filtering Social Media; different sides of the same coin<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Interestingly, the regime\u2019s leaders are busy with coordinated disinformation<\/u> in the social media while the Iranian people are deprived to access them.<\/p>\n

It is even more interesting to note that the regime\u2019s leaders have several accounts in different languages to express their opinions in the same forbidden social media.<\/p>\n
