Gothenburg, Sweden \u2013 March 1, 2026 \u2014<\/strong> Supporters of the\u00a0People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran<\/span><\/span>\u00a0(PMOI\/MEK<\/span><\/a>) gathered in Gothenburg to endorse the official announcement of a Provisional Government by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI<\/a>), a coalition of democratic Iranian opposition forces. The rally underscored backing for the NCRI\u2019s initiative as a viable democratic alternative for Iran following the death of Ali Khamenei<\/a>.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"608\" data-end=\"950\">Participants chanted slogans calling for the overthrow of Iran\u2019s religious dictatorship and the establishment of a free and democratic republic. Organizers said the demonstration was held in solidarity with the NCRI\u2019s declaration and to highlight the determination of Iranians abroad to achieve fundamental political change in their homeland.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"952\" data-end=\"1368\">In their remarks, demonstrators firmly rejected both the former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/who-was-mohammad-reza-pahlavi-shah-irans-last-pahlavi-dictator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">monarchical<\/a> system and the current clerical regime, stressing that Iran\u2019s future depends on the establishment of a new era of democratic governance. They voiced strong support for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/viewpoints\/tomorrow-s-iran\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ten-point plan<\/a> proposed by <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Maryam Rajavi<\/span><\/span>, President-elect of the NCRI, describing it as a comprehensive framework for a transitional government.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1370\" data-end=\"1773\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The NCRI\u2019s Provisional Government declaration, <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/iranian-resistance\/2026\/02\/announcement-of-a-provisional-government-by-the-national-council-of-resistance-of-iran\/84244\/\" rel=\"\">issued<\/a> on February 28, outlines a roadmap to transfer sovereignty to the Iranian people and guide the country toward a democratic republic founded on universal suffrage, individual freedoms, gender equality, and the rule of law. The plan also calls for abolishing absolute clerical rule and dismantling repressive institutions linked to the current regime.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1370\" data-end=\"1773\" data-is-last-node=\"\"
