PMOI supporters rally in Gothenburg, Sweden, backing the NCRI\u2019s provisional government plan and calling for democratic change in Iran.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
Gothenburg, Sweden \u2014 March 7, 2026 \u2014<\/strong> Supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK<\/span><\/a>) gathered in Gothenburg for another consecutive day of rallies to endorse the National Council of Resistance of Iran\u2019s (NCRI<\/a>) announcement of a Provisional Government. The NCRI, a coalition of democratic Iranian opposition groups, has presented the initiative as a roadmap for a democratic transition in Iran. The rally highlighted support for the NCRI\u2019s initiative as a viable democratic alternative for Iran following the death of Ali Khamenei<\/a>.<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"451\" data-end=\"925\">Participants chanted slogans calling for the overthrow of Iran\u2019s religious dictatorship and the establishment of a free and democratic republic. Demonstrators in Gothenburg called for the <strong>closure of Iran\u2019s embassy<\/strong>, denouncing it as a <strong>center for terror and espionage<\/strong> in Sweden. They voiced strong support for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/viewpoints\/tomorrow-s-iran\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ten-point plan<\/a> proposed by <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Maryam Rajavi<\/span><\/span>, President-elect of the NCRI, describing it as a comprehensive framework for a transitional government.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1370\" data-end=\"1773\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The NCRI\u2019s Provisional Government declaration, <a href=\"https:\/\/iranfreedom.org\/en\/iranian-resistance\/2026\/02\/announcement-of-a-provisional-government-by-the-national-council-of-resistance-of-iran\/84244\/\" rel=\"\">issued<\/a> on February 28, outlines a roadmap to transfer sovereignty to the Iranian people and guide the country toward a democratic republic founded on universal suffrage, individual freedoms, gender equality, and the rule of law.
